I'm surprised your so sure he wouldn't get in the top 3 off the back of that performance.

Cobden said graded horse in a handicap. Surprised if he didn't come back to Cheltenham. Could be 2 and a half or 3 miles.

Well there at least 2/3 Irish horses better in the race. He just beat Datsalrightgino by 4 lengths that's not G1 form at all

        • Tommy's oscar showing again today why he should be lining up in the arkle.
Banbridge really could be the dark horse in the arkle

As well as Stage Star jumped, my first thought was that he would have no chance in the Turners based on the proximity of Datsalrightgino. I would agree on there being at least 3 better Irish horses.

            • El Fabiolo last matched (at very small money) 18.5 on the exchange, one to keep a eye on maybe

              • Was there today and Stage Star was hugely impressive. Jumped brilliantly and never off the bridal in a decent race. I was very impressed. He's a player in whatever race he goes in. Turners would be my guess.

                • Stage star is a challow winner. He will almost certainly make a better chaser, and probably makes a bit of value for a race like the turners.

He's as good as I've seen for the Turner's this season, English or Irish. I was really taken by him today. He jumped immaculately.

                      Do me a favour.

Now, I've said that Mighty Potter was a bad favourite but his form is beyond what Stage Star done today. Not only did he win a G1, but the 2nd that day (who he beat well) then went on to win a G1 himself.

Stage Star just won a handicap.

You've had a right Paul Nicholls love in the past couple of days, first it was Gelino Bello now Stage Star.

Look what happened when he faced proper horses last season at the fez, was out on his feet coming down the hill, and I expect the same.

Don't agree COD. I'd have him over Harry any day. His jumping was immaculate today and he won with his head in his chest off 12 stone which is rarely seen. He really impressed me and I couldn't resist backing him afterwards. Hope Nicholls sees sense and sends him down that route. If so, he's my winner.
