  • ….9 months ago Panda Boy beat Dunboyne >20 lengths in a beginners chase over 3 miles. They were level weights that day, not sure what their marks are now.

Money continues to come for Dunboyne, now into a best price 12-1.

PB beats him by miles then !

You lot are backing the wrong horse !!!

        Great spot Eggs.

Looking through Dunboyne form he is very ground dependant isn't he ? He'll not get heavy ground at the Fez guys.

        • Stumptown and Dunboyne seem to be the horses on everyone's lips anyway.

Panda Boy's rating of 140 could make it close for him? Probably just makes it. I'd say Leop was his day though.

One that might be a little sneakier and i'll check for her in the entries is Malina Girl. She was PU last time when a big price- she didn't have a great passage in the race, but didn't really have much hope. She's ran well round here in November, albeit not on the same course. An extra furlong will certainly suit, and she's generally a good jumper. Any ground shouldn't be an issue, and i just wouldn't be surprised if she ran a big race- if going here.

Complete shot in the dark, and one i'll just watch for.

Stumptown is definitely my number one pick over Dunboyne, from when I posted about this earlier.

He is the one I could look to use in NRNB doubles, just need to decide whether to or not, based on what the BHA capper gives him for his win at Sandown from last Thursday,

Yes i'd be in agreement there- he'd be the no.1 standout.

              • …important consideration is who might ride these horses. I have no idea who Cromwell would use for Stumptown or M Brassil for Panda Boy.

Both are strong on trends, although none of the last 10 winners have been rated higher than 143 (PB is 140 without UK Tax), 9 of the last 10 winners did not win last time out (Stumptown).

                  Won last year off 134...

                      Dunne would ride Cromwells surely?

Brassil- DOC has the most rides for him of the amateurs but presumably he might be taken elsewhere?

Chambard had a strange profile going into it last year, ran 6 times jan to feb and went from 110 to 134 as a ten year old. Im hoping that lucy has another one lined up in fuji flight which i suspect will go in this friday for her..

Dunboyne as Gordon’s best hope for the race

                          Stumptown as Gavin’s improver

as my only two picks, until Entries and Weights lead to a final decision on adding any others or not.

                          Stumptown
given a BHA Performance Rating of 135 for his Sandown win last Thursday.

So that should end up being his UK mark at next week's weights announcement day.

That will make Mr Cromwell an extremely smiley man

                          I am delighted with that

                          • Interested to see if Panic Attack gets an entry for this…….. I think the Pipes like to target one at this race and she could get in at the bottom, she’s been running on well over inadequate trips the last couple of times and she could be a nice price…… I will wait with interest for the entries!

Was thinking they may enter Only The Bold in it off 137

She's on my radar too and has an entry this Friday. I was hoping they'd go Ultima (if she got a win this week) but I don't think she's been given an entry.
