I do get your point, he's now looking for future not now
But .... I think Nicholls wants and needs Cheltenham winners more than anyone - he's just not getting them so being smart he's making hay elsewhere
Love Nicholls
Absolutely it’s just he has a very clear stack rank of races and senior chases will always be at the top for him. I’m not sure he even cares that much about the champion hurdle. The one time he won it he let his assistant train the horse.
more seriously of course he’d love to win it but he doesn’t set up his operation with that race in mind whereas it would be at the forefront of Willie and hendos minds.

He's certainly getting better horses in lately to get them, some very nice prospects. Especially next season with him getting the best p2per I've seen in a while in teeshan
Granted a clear run it's hard to see him beat, this will have been the target for a while as they missed the breeders cup turf because he's better at 1m2f
Main market rivals are Iceberg Theory (116 RPR last time in hurdles and a 99RPR in bumpers) and Sportinthepark (beat by Butcher Hollow in a bumper recently and beaten by a decent Robcour horse in his PTP).
Intense Approach has been mentioned elsewhere and got a 121 RPR in his latest bumper. Good PTP winner and the step up in trip will be to his liking. I thought he'd open shorter than evens.

No idea. No idea what the jockey was doing. I'm sure McConnell had a few words for him after
His horses are running dreadful. Both have emptied today. Was going to back Sharp Object in the Bumper tomorrow but not now. I'll look for something else.
