But the gamble and his price for tomorrow seem a little out of sync.
Probably been tipped up a few times.

Winning a pertemps qualifier is rarely reliable form. However well you look when winning.

I would have backed him for tomorrow though had the 20's been available when I thought about it earlier today.

Paisley Park 5/2 and Hill sixteen 9/4 double instead.
Yeh I think Nick Luck and perhaps even Tom 'the hack' Segal tipped him up, so that will see him shorten.

Re the bit in bold, I agree and disagree. I agree that winning a pertemps qualifier is rarely reliable form, but disagree with the 'however well you look when winning' because it implies what he's left in behind has made him look more impressive that he actually was, which I don't think is true.

He pissed up with authority having jumped superbly and was raised 9lbs. He won like an at least 150's hurdler, which we know has been enough to win this in the past. Further improvement is a possibility, which I hope we see tomorrow, so the bare form of the Cheltenham race doesn't really worry me.

Thanks to TKP I got on the 250/1. Not had one of these special doubles get past the first race yet . Maybe this time......

Loads of improvement if you believe his Jockey last time. He said it felt like he only entered the race 3 flights out he was going so easily. Won virtually on the bridal so 150 could be very lenient. If so then he's a big player tomorrow. I'm talking myself into another bet on him.....

Yeh the ride from RP was sexy as fu*k. Not many jockeys are nonchalantly looking over their shoulder on the bridle up that hill, and he won with loads more in hand than the winning margin suggests, hence why what the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc do moving forward doesn't bother me. Bit like McFabulous actually, the form of that Chepstow race wouldn't be worth a lick of piss, but sometimes you can visually see what's there and it looks like he's now knocking on the door for favouritism. The perfect result for me tomorrow is those two bang there, but the bet is clearly HV vs McFab at the prices IMO.

Brilliant stuff. That is some bet. Didn't realize he's been halved in price for tomorrow. Big gamble!

              • Don't see the honest vic angle myself

Iv seen people say he could improve like Paisley park did

But PP was an unexposed 6yo who had only had 5 starts before the season he went on to win the stayers

He finished 2nd in a grade 2 and ran in the Albert bartlett

Honest Vic is a 7 yo who had 17 starts before this year and was never deemed good enough to have run in a listed or graded race

Im happy to be proved wrong but at this stage I'd be dubious

The thing to take on board is that Honest Vic has had one run at 3 miles , his last run, and improved for it hugely.

                  • Can we get it requested for honest vic to place tomorrow and the stayers? That would be a very interesting bet to me

Can I do it through the app?

Il take the form of a pertempts qualifier with a pinch of salt until he does it in proper company

May be too late then though. Thats the risk we take though and what Ante Post betting is all about.

Cant back the winner of every race

And honest vic just doesn't fit my eye at this stage so happy to miss the price on him if I'm wrong

                          • I’ve convinced myself to back Paisley Park at 7/1 with 2pts this for the Stayers just incase he is back to standard expected. Got a cash out option with B365 so unless something bad happens I should get most back if he bombs. I have my doubts and apart from sprinter can’t recall a grade 1 horse getting back to their best after heart issues but it’s worth a punt as he will have in price if he wins tomorrow. A fantastic race on paper, looking forward to this one.

                            • To my eye there’s a lot of favs that look pretty solid at this early stage but PP ain’t one of them. Not only has he got to put that sub-standard performance behind him (heart issues accepted) but with 2 of the 4 Bartlett horses coming here along with Mcafbulous and SDB among others I won’t have an ounce of remorse if he ends up winning at the Festival at his current price or shorter.

                              • Lisnager Oscar 16/1 is crazy for today isn't it?

His penultimate run was winning the Stayers Hurdle, and he's drifted to 16/1.

He must be the most unpopular horse in training

Given the rest of his form outside that run I suppose that's the right price that he should be though.

This might be a bad bet, but 16/1 I am going to have to back for today
