The pace will drop at some point, whether its decided by one or two of the jockeys from the front, or forced upon them as they hit the hill and their horse is treading
- Unlikely the pace will be weak at the start of the race, a few of these will want to get a position up front.
- Find it hard to see the pace drop in the middle, something will pick it back up.
- So, I can see this race switching towards the end of the race. Needing a horse that can handle 2 mile pace, but stays. Feels like this is going to suit Honeysuckle, something sitting off the pace, something from the back of the field - which wont be that far behind given theres only 8 runners here
Sharjah is coming back into the picture here. 16/1 is too big
The race last year suited Epatante, she has the perfect ride and the pace suited her - a sprint finish. Sharjah done extremely well considering these conditions
This race is going to be ran on the best ground we've seen for a few years! Sharjah is the only horse I can see right now who has recent form over good ground - and when I say good ground I'm taking spring ground
There's only 10 runners this time around, I can see a Artic Fire like run from Sharjah. The only difference is, I dont think any of these are a Faugheen and we wont have a "Faugheen like performance" where one horse just dominates the race from start to finish.
Added to this, we dont have a Ruby Walsh like jockey this in who would dedicate the race
With this in mind, I'm going to back Sharjah at 16/1.
