    • The day of race and GC bet not looking great on Chantry now

Think I might end up with Protektorat on the day here. Only trends fit that will be left.

Yeah, CH has to improve his jumping big time.
He should still run in the race, and you just never know in this game.
Hes jumped a lot better than that before so have to hope he can again in March.
Protek has a big chance Benjy imo.

        • Chantry House is just not a proper top level G1 animal, never has been IMO. Fortuitous and a very good horse, but that’s it. His fans must know that after today, surely, He’s 12/1 and I wouldn’t back him @ 33/1

This is fair comment obviously, but we've been here so many times.

These second season chasers tend to up their form come March for whatever reason, especially the one's with proven Cheltenham form.
People were saying the same about Minella Indo this time last year.
Santini & LIT the year before.
              Al Boum Photo before that.

He doesn't look as springy as he was when winning his races towards the end of last season. That's not a pun, it's just how his jumping appears. Looks like a lot of effort at the moment.

Not everyone. I am inclined to look further than what I’ve seen recently.

                • I've taken heed of the opinions on here, and re-watched the race back and cashed out for level stakes on Chantry House.

                    Fair enough.
Im keeping mine, I’ve seen enough over the years in this game. Especially when it comes to the Gold Cup.

I've seen enough this season to believe he won't be winning it, however, that is jut my opinion of course.

                      Good luck with your bet(s)

                      • The problem for me is he just looks so slow over fences.

They were going a decent gallop, they will in the Gold Cup, so if he’s unable to keep up he’s losing lengths at every fence. Let’s be honest too, what he faced today is a far far cry of what he’ll face in March.

He’s won which is the only positive I’d say after his last run pulling up at Kempton.

Exactly this, no chance, nowhere near the level of some of them at the front of the market. I was tempted to get him covered earlier in the season, glad I never bothered.

I don’t believe he will win it either, I actually think Galvin will, however I’ve been known to be wrong, and if CH jumps as well as I’ve seen him jump before, then I can see him running a big race.
                              Good luck to you COD

I’ve been warming and warming to Galvin the last while. I think he’s a massive chance. Elliott giving him a nice break before Cheltenham. I missed the prices because I thought he was cross c national bound. Fair play he’s definitely up to Grade 1 standard.

A Plus Tard, Galvin, outsider the 1-2-3 imo.
