More so than I’ve ever seen this year… GC day sold out last month, practically zero hotel rooms available that usually always come up around this time with last min availability & even the train companies aren’t doing any discounts this year.. where we at for a Guinness this year? ?7 a pint? Racing’s back, bigger than ever this Festival IMO… the level of posts on here this year proves it

    • To be honest I watch most the racing on my phone, but did lose out on ?5 of R4R points to pay for the Irish Racing over Christmas

Only to then find out it was being shown for free!

I disagree, and I think that's completely unfair. Elle Est Belle wants two and half miles, and the Mares Novice is over two. Why go there when she can run over the correct trip at Aintree. The only reason they'd consider the race is if it came up soft, and even then the balance of her form is on better ground.

Dan Skelton also doesn't seem to be shirking Cheltenham. He's got good horses towards the top of an awful lot of markets, and whilst he isn't likely to do a Mullins and win half a dozen winners or more, he is likely to have a good Festival, when he could easily save several of those horses to go pot hunting elsewhere.

        • Elle Est Belle's isnt running away from Cheltenham.

As Spectre says, she is a 2M4F Mare (probably stay further) so going to the MNH has looked more and more unlikely as the season has unfolded.

EEB wont be going to Aintree for a 2M alternate to the Festival 2M MNH, its the trip shes seeking.

Thats a completely separate point to Nicholls skipping the Festival last year with Monmiral for example,...who should and could have gone to the Triumph with a very good winning chance.

will surely want to get another run into her but running out of time
Will need to see an entry soon

Yep, and all being well we may see her in the Mares at the festival next year.

I reckon thats likely, unless she goes to the Stayers.

Good point, she’s certainly improving for stepping up in distance, so no telling where she will end up.
Worth bearing in mind for sure for next season.
                    She definitely looks real genuine.

                    • Curious as to what options Willie has left to get another run into Dinoblue, I’d like to see her out sooner rather than later! I know there’s the listed Apples Jade at Navan but that’s over 2m5f so hardly ideal…

I thought Frank Berry reported that she's going straight to the Festival.

I checked through race programme earlier in the week and couldn't find a suitable Mares Novice for her.

Didn't check the geldings options, though; she may be permitted entries in some of those races - if there are any over 2 Miles I'm the next two weeks.

I must have missed that SW, she must be showing plenty at home for Willie to be happy to go straight from a maiden. That’s not his usual routine if it’s by design!

                          • Seems to be a fair bit of blue for glens of Antrim on oddschecker. Is she on a retire and return contract?

We already have entries out for Clonmel 17th Feb, so that's less than 4 weeks from the Festival with no entries.

To run 3 weeks or more before the MNH she would need to run by Thursday 24th Feb at the latest.

That gives her four meetings from 19th to 24th Feb to find a race to run in.

                              Thurles - 24th

Entries for all of these meetings will be out Tuesday-Friday next week.

So we will know very soon.

Surely has to be the plan. Very surprised she didn't run in the handicap at DRF. Second season novices do well in this race. This years race looks far better than last years which is the problem for her.
