Is there anything to read into Tiger Rolls prep this season? Run at Aintree in December and another run in January is noticeably different to what they've been doing in recent years. I appreciate he's now 12 which I don't doubt will have some bearing!
They usually give him a run before the new year and then one in Feb then on to Cheltenham
The only recent year when they didn't do that was when he had a setback and went straight to the boyne hurdle
Its a little different timing wise but still not that different really
I'm convinced they're trying to get him in the Grand National as his last race and trying to show Mr Handicapper that he's 'not the same horse he was'
Correct me if I'm wrong but surely running in a handicap hurdle will have absolutely no bearing on his chase mark, giving the handicapper a perfect excuse not to change him.

Can't correct you on that one
.. unless the Irish handicapper thinks different as he's not on a bad mark over there so xc, Irish national would also work

I think the Irish handicapper judges him pretty fairly, he's penalised unfortunately by the British handicapper because of his Cheltenham and Aintree wins. Hope he wins 1 more big one with a crowd, he deserves it.
IMO there will be no 3rd win for Tiger in the GN. If his festival prep goes to plan at the weekend and he comes out of the race sound then he will have his final run in front of his beloved Cheltenham fans in March in the XCC. Everything crossed it'll be a winning one. He deserves to end his illustrious career in a blaze of glory at his favourite place.

Shady Operator or Tiger Roll........ummmmmm........only one winner in the voting poll I'm afraid. Not having it any other way.
Yeah I’m sure he’d be a very popular winner with the public. Probably most celebrated result of with week. I do feel he will be vulnerable to a younger, proper x country sort though, but like easysland a couple of year ago. But course form counts for a lot in this race and it’s not great IMO that shady operator missed the opportunity to get a spin around it in Dec.
I’m sure it would put a smile on my face if tiger made history, gigginstown deserve it after everything they’ve put into the game over the last 15 years or so. Winning money would put a bigger smile on it though
Agree Toni. Everyone I'm sure will have a few points on Tiger at some stage so that they can cherish him winning and pick up a bit at the same time. It's the one result I'd wish for over the entire week.
Anyone know why he isn't there anymore? Elliott used to talk about him saying he's a huge part of the team.
Im sure someone said something along the lines of he struggled with the pressures of being at a big yard? In response to the original question, you'd expect Davy to ride him I think

Only read the above.
I thought you were suggesting Davy riding Keith Donoghue
