EIR is the only one I’ve heard mentioned in terms of the Champion Hurdle & he confirmed SWIW would be aimed for the Mares Hurdle in his stable tour, so I’d be surprised to see them switch.

Would she stay 2m4f at Cheltenham?
Id have big doubts personally
Though i agree with most of the above, WPM doesn't often leave himself short for this.

Same, even if she's showing more capability of being held up. Which is partly the reason why i suspect they are wanting to get her in a CH rather than a mares.

He won't bat an eyelid moving from chase to hurdles when he makes declarations for festival week.
Depends how all the race options pan out though I suppose.
It does make this race tricky for antepost betting though, unless SWIW emerges as a super strong contender, but the signals are that we may not see much of her.

I just think if he's sending Concerstista chasing, and maybe Gauloise (mixed messages) he must think he has something decent to cover for them and take on TMSG through the season.

Not sure where i stand with any of his tbh, don't think Concertista is all that over 2m4, SWIW got a layoff to return from, Gauloise is decent but wouldn't have her top of the novices from last year, Hook Up can't jump...i'm sure i'm missing one or two perhaps.

But I think he is factoring in that they can always revert.
I doubt he thinks he has a superstar for the mares race.
It's probably more that he sees the Mares hurdle as weak/winnable full stop.
It is different to previous occasions when he has done it with BDD & VVM, as there is a mares chase now.
But going novice chasing just provides more options/versatility. As I think he sees no problem going for the hurdle race at the festival if they've been chasing all year.
He can then select his team according to form, opposition and who is available/fit.
If they stayed over hurdles then going for the chase option is extremely unlikely.
And the quevega hurdle just before the festival is a perfect prep if he feels they need a spin over hurdles first.

“With Burning Victory, we have to improve her jumping. At the moment, she can jump half the hurdles in a race. Once she gets her jumping act together, I think her racing will take a hike.”
Love this quote from Willie on BV. Also fair to say he thinks a bit of her!

"we'll maybe be looking for mares' races over a longer trip where she'd be able to handle hurdles better."
What are these longer trip mares races? Speculation on my part but could she rematch Buzz in the Stayers perhaps?

Grab the 12/1 while you can I say.

Willie mentioned this race for a number of his and as always, targets will change and horses will emerge. It is a temping price though. She looks very good but lots of mares do and then when tested, don't.

That's not to say don't have reservations but from the digging I've done and the noises I have heard (along with what we know already) she's way above average. Connections were preparing for a crack at the Supreme last year and said that her Royal Bond entry last year was for good reason.
