  • Think Bear ghylls seems to be going a bit under the radar after what was a great run in 4th. He stepped through 3 out, losing about 3/4 lengths then missed the 2nd last where he lost alot of momentum. He stayed on well up the hill and doesn't seem fully developed in his frame. Personally on the ballymore run I'd have him currently as the second best horse to Bob Olinger

      • Willie mentioning the CC for Alaho has tempted me in to a related double: Alaho - Champion Chase and Energumene - Ryanair. 1pt at 188/1 (Hills).

Despite what Willie said in his interview can anyone really see allaho going down the 2 mile route?

I can see it. I think it the less likely scenario, but I can see it. Especially as Energumene looks ready made for 2m 4.

At Punchestown yes. No mid trip race their I reckon.

Then it depends how he fares.

However, you wouldn't say Honeysuckle's breeding smacks of a 2 miler really.
If you look back a bit further Q you will find Morley Street and Granville Again through Ferny's Dam side. All 3 of those mentioned were bred by the Parkhill's. I think he is very much champion hurdle material given the potential he has shown. I really hope we get to see him at Punchestown.

                  • I’m the first to admit I got him wrong this season but that was a bad ryanair he won impressively. Always been campaigned as a stayer and now he’s a champion chase horse, give me a break Willie!

                    • In what way was it a bad ryanair?

The field was much better than normal wasnt it

                      • Had there been any update on Dusart's injury?

He'd seem an obvious one for next seasons Arkle if he's ok and going over fences.

It was. And imo it was one of the best, if not the best, performances of the week. Decent horses just couldn't go with him, he set and maintained a relentless gallop

A bunch of spent forces like Min and Samcro who used to be great but aren’t anymore that look completely washed up and second raters like Fakir D’Oudaries, Tornado Flyer, Kalashnikov, Mister Fisher etc. Just my personal opinion but I think it was an awful renewal. That’s not taking anything away from allaho as I thought he was amazing.

For me it was Allaho’s dominant display that broke the others and I know they rate Fakir and Imperial Aura highly so I don’t think this one enters the book as a poor renewal...
