I also think it would be rare if a Reynoldstown winner didn't end up rated in the 150's, as they progress.
He looks ideal for the Ultima, as a likely runner in any case. IMO
I think that's why they priced him up at 10's, and PP also (via phone only).
I've backed him but hopefully they don't enter him tomorrow, as I'd prefer a clearer path for Happygolucky, Lieutenant Rooco & One for the team.
They are the four I've backed so far. All look the types to be 150+ horses IMO.
Funnily enough the one who's mark I'm not as keen on (taking into account the overall form) is Happy's.

We'll see how many are entered tomorrow, they are all NRNB except for Happy.
They may have a change of heart but Speedy has picked up David Pipe quotes saying he’ll go to the NH Chase with Tom Scu on board, assuming amateurs are still excluded. They may switch if amateurs can ride, but after today’s COVID announcement that would seem highly unlikely.

I understand it's unlikely that One For The Team comes here. A mate of mine knows one of the owners and the plan currently, is for him to run at Huntingdon in the week prior to Cheltenham as a prep for an Aintree handicap.

They really like him and think he's very well handicapped. A few BIG bets went awry last time out and I'm sure they'll be looking to recoup at some point - just don't think it will be here. (He is going to be entered though).

        But does he?

HDB said on the In The Know interview that he goes to the Grand National if he gets in - or Fairyhouse.

And as he is 57 on the list he will get in at Aintree off a featherweight. I've backed him NRNB for the Grand National at 45-1 with BF boost tonight.

Gordon says Ultima or NH Chase for Escaria Ten.

Reckon he could be the main danger to Happygolucky/Galvin in whichever race he contests.

But strikes me that Gordon won't want them both in the same race so Escaria Ten more likely to come here even though it's not a race he targets.

The RSA is definitely still being considered too...depending on how it cuts up.

I'd be very happy to see him leave it to Galvin and go to the RSA.

How do you know that? Would have thought he’s very unlikely for the old RSA.

The owner is quite accomodating via social media.

I guess you're saying that from a point of view Monkfish is hard to beat.... from connections point of view, there's a chance that race really cuts up and "you should never be afraid of one horse".... means prize money for placing and that mantra means they'll keep the option open for as long as possible?

The same social media source that the handicap mark wrong The RSA is the race he least chance of winning and surely you’d want to try and win a festival race rather than chase prize money? Anyway we will see.

He was still accomodating in answering questions on targets, which is the point?!

Would be disappointed if he went RSA too, but i guess they have others for the NHC

                        I hope that's a joke.

The owner answers questions, all I am doing is explaining why it's feasilbe.

With respect, what you'd want to do "i'd want to try and win a festival race than chase prize money?" is absolutely meaningless and has zero bearing and isn't useful in any way whatsoever. Same as me, or anyone saying it..... it's what the owners want to do that counts surely.

Let's say the owner says they will go for the race, and we know that, I share it on here and we get a nice "without the favourite" price each way..... as the target is 'assumed' not to be here?

Will you be as annoyed at me for trying to be helpful?

We will see, and I'll know before it's official....which might help, it might not...

                        • No misinformation is useless, like my reasoning why you’d avoid running in the RSA Wow you’ll know before it’s official surprised they haven’t got Gordon to ring you for advice.

                          • He said Pencilfulofhead could run in RSA so Escaria Ten will be considered too given he finished ahead of him.

                            • Haven't been on for a while and wondered why Happygolucky had been cut. I very tentatively mentioned him in the handicapper thread in December but, not having much faith in my own judgement, hadn't put much on him. After such a strong post from you Spectre I'll have to top up on him. Fingers crossed he does the job for all of us on him.
