  • I’m confused.

Wasn’t the rationale for this thread - Kev was annoyed that UTA moved prices when they weren’t that good and you’d get better informed analysis reading this forum?

Selection for week 3 is from another tipster, which ironically you can’t post on the very forum that we are supposed to be using instead of listening to UTA?

I would but you're moving markets Kev. If 365 promise to do the same thing with yours I'll think about it.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

        A fair point. Brital

Scrap that selection from the list Quevega , I'll have Holymacapony in the Albert Bartlett at 20/1

Just to add, the selection for week 3 isn't technically from another tipster, I found him myself without knowing he was tipped up , but as I speak with scooby regularly, it transpired he had put him up and therefore asked me not to mention him straight away so everyone gets chance to take the price. He was 33/1 and 40/1 at this point.... since then he's gone 50/1!

Still, was a fair point other than that... and as I say, the horse is mentioned in other peoples diaries etc...

Chances are he'll flop on debut anyway

Not a good record for 5yos in AB, only 2 winners in 16 runnings and both were French bred

That doesn't seem that bad a record at 20/1

              2/16 - so 1 in 8

I haven't even backed Holymacapony myself, I better add 1 pt e/w now

Henry De Bromhead is a trainer I want to be on the right side of. Given the connections are the same as Minella Indo and Monalee, I've taken a little leap that this is an obvious target, and I was very impressed with the actual performance, beating a WIllie hot pot easily.

The horse in that race already has a higher RPR than Minella Indo or Monalee had at this stage of their careers, so whilst you may be right, it may be a shite tip, I think 20/1 is fair enough

...and I have just backed him, 1 pt e/w

                  • So much for the price holding... into 5s straight away. Also dunno if coincidence but id a slight suspicion it was these 2, both went blue earlier today and was in back of my head it could be UTA.

I'm slightly disappointed with Gavin, he's stating alot of obvious selections, maybe i was over estimating him, but wanted a slightly left field pick this week, def not a backed in shortie in the triumph!

I usually don't have many issues with these chaps, but I do for this weeks bets!

                      Zanahiyr at 6's, FFS!

He's had 3 weeks prior, to put that one up at 33/1 with 365, the horse had already been out, so not even the 'waiting to see what he can do' excuse, IMO.

I think Quevega mentioned this one (apologies if it was someone else) agessssss ago, albeit it was more a punt then as the horse hadn't been seen, but it was a 50/1 punt which is more than fair.

As for DJ's, the owner said he'll be one for next season so I wouldn't be expecting too much from him this coming season, but I guess he's worth an E/W shout, if he actually turns up.

DJ mentioned Zanahiyr as Gordon’s number one triumph horse at 33/1 a few weeks back and then put up Lord Royal at 33/1. Thankfully some of us are on at 33s as 5/1 is way to short in December

                        • Crickey.

                          Anyway.....
                          • Benie Des Dieux - Mares Chase 6/1 - There are only two mares in training in UK or IRE that are better than her, and they're both staying over hurdles. Obviously BDD might stay over hurdles too, but this is a feasible target given the stable tours and market guides, and I believe she'd actually be close to odds on, as she'll be against average mares or novice chasers and she's just head and shoulders clear.
                          • Heross Du Seuil - Triumph 33/1 - Gordon looks to have a strong hand, and whilst I like (and have backed) both of them that head the market, I will chance a horse that's been bought from France and moved over to another trainer with an excellent record in the Triumph, Nicky Henderson. Same owner as Shishkin, hopefully similar amount of talent too. Woon his only race in France and related to Defi Du Seuil. No entry yet so price will probably hold for a while.

                              Graphic behind him shows 6/1

                              • Did they not keep saying 7s, with 6 showing behind them..its a.race.where i like to see a.few.more runners come out, some are not seen to Feb. Have to be impressed with the winner, and missed prices now. But its a race I don't do well at, and I'm really trying not to back anything in this race till next year till I have a firmer view.
