Supreme Novices Hurdle 2020

Very hard to imagine Elliott sweeps them all with no reply from Mullins.

A month from now on 1st Jan I'm sure we'll all be raving about some of the Mullins horses for the same races... just too unlikely that Elliott wipes the floor with him.

Hopefully some of the other trainers have some nice types too :)

Yep, long way till Dublin still.
That normally shakes it up a fair bit

Lawlors over 2 1/2 so that'll give them more to think about. Think they said AD would go there as well so who knows??!!

Think AD will go to Navan in a fortnight for the Grade 2 race over 2m4f that Easy Game won last year.

Exactly, Mullins had Foveros and Fast Buck in there....they aren't anyway near good enough- he'll have plenty better than them you'd hope.....or he has to be worried lol

We know historically that Mullins tends to introduce his very best novices over Xmas. I was elated to hear Fly Smart was a little behind the rest and won’t be seen till Xmas.

I actually think Gordon could do a clean sweep of the novice races. He has had a good group of novices before with one standing out. However this season the likes of Envoi, AD, Abra and Fury all look outstanding individuals to me and I doubt Mullins will be able to match that group.

Ya see as much as i appreciate Envoi is superb looking so far- he really has been beating most of the same bunch of horses, like todays were basically the ones he met in bumpers.

Abacadabras or whatever, is a very good horse- but he's not anything out of the ordinary.

AD obviously looks exceptional, but again, he has still to prove it. His form doesn't look too bad as it stands, but quite untested.

Fury has beaten trees so far and wasn't an exceptional bumper by any means. For all he's probably not a bumper horse!

I think people need to take a pull on the Elliot Novice love-in just now.......

Way too premature to be drawing this conclusion. Mullins doesn’t tend to produce his best novices pre December so it’s impossible to gauge what Willie has until we see them (plus there are other trainers :)). Gordon was mob handed in plenty of novice races last year and struggled.

Really ?
If so back them now at better prices ?
Honeysuckle was the nap bet today , your horse and you didn’t back it .
Hope Honeysuckle and BDD serve up a real thriller come March and I’m still in the BDD camp

A few days ago people were waxing lyrical about a Mullins horse for the supreme in unexcepted.

Willie has plenty set to run, he may well have saved the best ones behind, like he's just happened to do every single year, because unlike Gordon's, they've already ran over hurdles in france and have been jumping at home since 2.

i know for a fact that they've been running horses in schooling hurdles and schooling bumpers at the curragh in the last month.

There's one out in the week that might be a bit ok.
I'd have thought you'll find a few nice ones in there, so you can rule them out as they run.

I've backed them all at big prices and done doubles. I've already given my reasons for not backing Honey today. Personally don't think you'll get your thriller in March, Honey will win comfortably.

Backed Fly Smart and Lamarckise out of those and if course some could turn out very good but they would need to in order to match Gordon's bunch. Just think this year they very special. He's a lucky chap.

I think willie might well be ok.

I'd give abacadabras a big shout in the supreme though.
Imo envoi allen will be very hard to beat in the ballymore,
But I wouldnt be believing the hype of andy dufresne. And fury road may well look good and end up the bartlett fav, but its a lottery of a race.

What was your verdict on the two big novice races at Fairyhouse on Sunday?

Noel Fehily, former jockey I was very impressed with Fakir D’Oudairies, who clearly loves jumping fences and looks a very good horse. You had to be impressed by Envoi Allen too. His bumper form was top drawer and he’s looked good in both starts over hurdles. I think he’ll be even better when he goes up in trip.

Micky Hammond, trainer Envoi Allen was impressive and looks a machine, he jumps well and it looks as though you can ride him whichever way you want. Fakir D’Oudairies jumped exceptionally well and has bags of scope for a four-year-old. He could be even better back at two miles. Over this trip it might have fallen Samcro’s way – his was a novicey mistake.

Patrick Mullins, jockey Samcro looks like he is back to his best. He was giving Fakir D’Oudairies 8lb and probably would have beaten him too. Envoi Allen looks like he could do anything he wants in life.

Amy Murphy, trainer Envoi Allen was a top bumper horse last year and showed he can also jump when making all in the Royal Bond for Cheveley Park Stud. He looks a natural for the Supreme. It would have been fascinating to see how Samcro would have fared in the Drinmore if he had stayed on his feet. Fakir D’Oudairies didn’t look to be stopping and may well have won anyway.

Kevin O'Malley, Tote spokesman Envoi Allen looks ideal for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and a range of top races in the future. He stands out a mile and backs up the imposing frame where it matters. Runner-up Abacadabras is no slouch, either. Drinmore winner Fakir D’Oudairies jumps like a bunny and looks an Arkle type, while Samcro’s jumping is a concern.

Patrick Mullins, jockey Honeysuckle was terrific. She really came of age in the Hatton’s Grace and I hope she and Rachael Blackmore can go right to the top together. As for Envoi Allen, if I could buy one horse right now in Ireland or Britain it would definitely be him.

It'd be odds on that the 4 you mention don't all make it.

Theres no chance he sweeps all 3 novice hurdles.

If Willie has never done it, Gordy won't be doing it...:devilish:

Recency bias is clouding your judgement.
For a man that's been watching racing as long as you, you should know that is a dangerous game. :p
