2026 Mares Hurdle

If Lossiemouth heads to Champion hurdle which seems likely

That puts Willie in a position where he hasn’t got any prominent horse for the mares unless he Switches JDG back to hurdles

I would of thought he would of held JDG back particularly when they went over fences with Kargese

Can anyone convince me to keep the 50/1 voucher on Act of Entitlement? Didn’t really get in the race, but that was pretty poor.

I’ve cashed out as that was pretty poor today and Henry’s started to land a few winners, so form of the stable isnt currently as much a factor as it was?

Henry's record at the festival is superb.

I'm studying to try and find a Mullins horse .

Wadhooh will ve very, very hard to beat though. Probably just top up on her NRNB id say. Can't imagine Willie will think he has one to touch her. She is superb.

This is the way to go. I'm studying to find a Mullins horse b
I backed Jade at 12-1 today. B365 - missed the 16's Paddy's dangled for a bit
be surprised if they don't revert. other course likely to suit her also.
If Dinoblue and Spindleberry stay fit then it's almost certain IMO.

Spindleberry may go GC though so PT would be without a ride?

On Racing TV today Willie could not have been more dismissive of that idea.
Owners would be turfed out of his yard if they put their foot down.
And the promise of Paul riding and a favourites chance will likely persuade them anyhow.

Willie pretty much laughed off any notions of a GC bid for Spindleberry today in an interview so wouldn't overthink PT having a ride in this.

Pussies

Wodhooh remains Paddy Power’s 2-1 favourite for the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, with Elliott viewing that two-and-a-half-mile contest as a more logical option than taking on the boys in the Champion Hurdle.
He added: “Two miles around Cheltenham could be a bit sharp for her so I’d say she’ll go for the Mares’ Hurdle.
“She’s shown again how tough she is and I doubt she’ll run again before Cheltenham.”

Has GE said anything about Brighterdaysahead Cheltenham target? If Lossie beats her again at the DRF will the Olearys want her in the mares…

True, BDA another go in churdle?
The race at the DRF is going to be decisive for this race.
The winner will surely take a crack at the Champion Hurdle, and I’d say the second ends up in the Mares.

At the DRF if Lossie gets beaten into second which is probably odds against she’ll end up a pretty short favourite for this. For me she’s a good few pounds ahead of Wodhooh.

If BDH is best of the rest behind Lossie and runs her close enough, I can see the O’Learys going for the Mares with her. I felt last year Eddie O’Leary really wanted to run in the Mares, and I could see that happening again if she gets beaten by Lossie.

Her Cheltenham runs haven’t been great, but I think there are excuses there. And I can definitely see Jack riding her.

If BDA goes Mares then it'll mean she's been beat again by Lossie. If that's the case then Jack will ride Wodhooh.
