Doncaster 2:00 The Cruising Lord 25/1 (28/1 boosted with 4 places available) - Another who has been tried quite highly since his novice days, running some solid races in Group 3 & Listed company. It's likely they are trying to work that mark down for 5f handicap, but taken a chance at a big price over the 6f today in easier company than he has been competing against. Owners last 4 runners have been winners, here's hoping this one is number 5!

That'll do, finishing 3rd, ended up 28/1 anyway so small profit today. Bit annoyed about the first one missing the break but that's flat racing for you!

Really fancied Matthew flinders so backed him outright for the win but on your advice I had First Winter without the fav early this morning before his price collapsed, two winners in one race, nice touch for the Cheltenham kitty!!

3.00 Doncaster - Folk Dance 16/1-9/4

This was in my 34 3yo's to look out for but I am still wondering what is going on. This is David ' they will come on for a run' Simcock isn't it?

The 16/1 was worth an each-way nibble but 9/4 you have to be joking.

Very glad I didn't get involved. It clearly was a ridiculous price. The sort of race that reminds me to limit my bets on the flat. She might be the best horse in that race but she was given such an inept ride who knows? She is bred to stay a lot further than a mile.

The sort of race you're glad you miss the price and leave alone tbh, she's plenty of options going forward now thou. Up in trip, dropped into 75/78/80 or even fillies hcap one to keep on side no doubt.

I said to myself I would back this horse next time out as I thought he ran a great race to finsh 3rd at Royal Ascot where he was poorly drawn, had to run 4 wide all the way round, was stopped in the home straight, yet still managed to stay on strongly for a close up third. Would be a stronger fancy if the ground was not soft so I took the 8s EW yesterday. He's now a best price 7s.

Going to throw a dart at Special Memento 6.30 Leopardstown 4 places Paddy Pwr 22/1

Obviously very trappy race with lots of potential improvers in here but I think this gelding has been desperate for a step up in trip, the majority of his competition in maidens are now rated in the 70s and above. The trainer is in good form, she’s had 3 winners and 4 placing s from 18 runners. Ronan Whelan is an excellent young jockey. I think from stall 3 he can get settled behind the leaders and he’ll win going away

I said to myself I would back this horse next time out as I thought he ran a great race to finsh 3rd at Royal Ascot where he was poorly drawn, had to run 4 wide all the way round, was stopped in the home straight, yet still managed to stay on strongly for a close up third. Would be a stronger fancy if the ground was not soft so I took the 8s EW yesterday. He's now a best price 7s.

I have backed this too. Kingscote jocked up - 4 wins, 7 places from last 14 rides for Johnston at Haydock. Was 2nd to Juan Elacano on heavy there last year.
