    Only one of these are going into the Yankee and my preference is for Ballyburn simply for the fact that the entire forum is on him in some form or another, so if we're wrong, we're all wrong

    The cross country is back in the mix and i think I'd like to be on the horse that Jack Kennedy is on, sounds like Delta Work at the moment although I thought yesterday he might have been on Coko Beach. The Cheltenham preview thread seems to say otherwise though. Not sure it sounds like drying ground on the XC course but will keep an eye on the weather watch thread in the meantime.

    For the Coral cup, there's a few in the mix; Brazil, Langer Dan, Built by Ballymore, Beacon Edge. Does anyone know where Yeats Star is likely to turn up?

    Grand Annual - Libberty Hunter, Frero Banbou, Saint Roi, In Excelsis. Is Saint Felicien going to go here or the Plate?

    I just don't like the bumper this year!

    Thoughts welcome.

      How about Sa Fureur in the Grand Annual? He's got form with some of the best Irish novices this season (Quilixios, Hunters Yarn, Facile V), and I know this has been the plan for him from a long way out. I also love a novice in a handicap

      At double figures, I think he's an outstanding bet in this.

        Makes sense to pick one of them and Ballyburn is miles clear on ratings, with less chance of an error impacting his winning chances. The QMCC can be won by unfancied runners. If EF makes an error at the first and doesn't get into a good rhythm, Jonbon showed last time that it can be difficult to get back into rhythm and lose to an inferior horse.

        Delta Work has won on good/soft and heavy on the XC course so ground wouldn't matter to me.

        From the Grand Annual 4 you've listed, I'd be against Saint Roi. IED has been running well without winning and could be well handicapped. Frero Banbou if getting in would be a place certainty but always seems to find one too good.

        Coral Cup I'll leave to others.

          55/1 for the 3 nailed on winners and Sa Fureur .... keep it simple

            He's gone under the radar for an Elliott novice with good form. I'm expecting money for him on the day.

              I'll throw one into the mix at a big price in the Champion Bumper if we decide on an each way / value Yankee....

              Bill Joyce is an entry for a trainer that doesn't usually target the race and I think his form could prove to be half decent.

              He easily beat Joyau Allen (full brother to Envoi Allen) from the Nicholls stable who finished second in a Borris House P2P to Tellherthename who is a general 16/1 for this year's Supreme. In an open looking Champion Bumper, a 40/1 shot could prove each way value.

                    …tipped by Mark Howard today, so it’s popular but a little bit of 10-1 about;

                    Novices have won two of the last four renewals of the Grand Annual Handicap Chase (4.50) on Wednesday, including the Gordon Elliott trained Chosen Mate in 2020. SA FUREUR was a three times winner over hurdles last season, including a Grade 3 event at Thurles (2m 4f : Good) in February when beating Buddy One (now rated 152) by a short head. Sent off favourite for the Coral Cup twelve months ago, the seven year old never landed a blow having been hampered a couple of times. Sent chasing, he remains a maiden after three starts (rated 145) but has been competing in good company. Still in contention when falling at the third last at Navan in November behind Facile Vega and Inthepocket, he was a fortunate winner next time when left clear at the last at Fairyhouse (would have been a respectable second behind Arkle Trophy bound Hunters Yarn). Two and a quarter lengths runner-up to former Festival winner Quilixios at Naas (2m : Soft) last time, the form received a boost when the third (Mister Policeman) won easily next time. His form figures over the trip are 3421F12 and his career wins have been gained in field sizes of 22,9,8 and 12. Unexposed over fences, he was previously owned by Caldwell Construction Ltd but was bought on behalf of Bective Stud to remain in the yard for €330,000 in February.
