Sportin John. Stayers
The Jam Man. Sure the trainer said he was targeting a chase if he went
Tullybeg or Folcano
Theres 3! Im sure Elliott will lose 1 more if needed and plus the usual drop outs I think he just get in
Phillip Hobbs said today after the weights launch that he was still undecided whether to send SJ to Pertemps or Stayers. Decision to be made last minute.
He's not 'well in' against anything he qualified against is he? Meaning Panda Boy and Dunboyne mainly....
And that's his only piece of noteable form whatsoever in his career?.... Even beating Captain Kangaroo isn't notable really for this race, as he's still rated mid 120's?
It's a genuine question, I feel I must have missed something that's all as 12/1 looks plenty short all things considered?
I'm willing to be converted. He's in plenty of diaries on here, I just want to know why
Emmet Mullins, Very shrewd connections, well punted last time and Danny probably got there too soon.
Not sure 138 is a great mark but then I still laugh at Presenting Percy’s mark in this which I thought wasn’t great at the time. If he turns up he could be a big gamble or a 20/1 drifter.

Shrewd connections is the crappest of all the reasons though when we're already down to 12/1 isn't it?
Like backing a JP horse because it must be a plot.
There must be more to it for him to be as short as he is?

They’re buying horses and turning them inside out and plotting races/marks like geniuses. They almost pulled off huge gambles twice this season with Rightplacerightime & Winter Fog.
They’re much shrewder than JP is these days, Selling him an OK at best handicapped The Shunter (after taking out a fortune on him) for (I presume) a fortune is probably the best deal done in some time.
I’d agree he’s short now off that mark in such a competitive race but bookies are underpricing Emmet horses in fear now.
One angle you could look at is that he may have taken a blow at the DRF at that was his first run of the season but not 100% sure of that with the gamble on him.
I’ve not backed him as his mark looks steep enough to me but I can see the angle for sure.

Not necessarily a case of well in against anything he’s qualified against when he’s so lightly raced. He traveled through that race beautifully and looked much, much better than a moderate 120s horse imo. Meh form in four spins(who knows when anything is trying over there) for previous trainer before switching to Emmet and guaranteeing a spot come March by finishing nearer first than 6th at Xmas & ensuring sufficient rises.
He could of been given a 3/4 lbs over 7 but it’s gotten him in comfortably and like most will be sub 11st with SDB rocking up off his rating, if you think something is much better than it’s mark 3lbs ain’t putting you off. We all know it’s not necessarily a race which previous form is the barometer for a punt, tends to be something you can’t quite Gauge, Irish and trying to solve the bits in between through eyes & opinions.
No reason price shouldn’t hold right through to decs tbf, SDB the class angle. Kealy be name checking Alaphillipe everywhere he goes & couple of Irish be spoken up by Blake on route.
If Dunboyne gets in he'll surely go off very short. He has clearly been plotted for this all season . Some of his Maiden Hurdle form just jumps out of the page.....
...2nd to Bob Ollinger, 2nd to Capodanno. He's a big race winner in waiting........a Gordon Elliott special.

I would say all of Gordon’s and most of the field would have been clearly plotted for this race too. Dunboyne definitely looks like one of his top three darts though.
