  • Is remastered even going to get in...the pertemps is the only handicap that has had more entries than last year. 133 should be short imo..

      Cut offs
      2021-126 (lowest)
      2020-131
      2019-134
      2018-135
      2017-137
      2016-135

You can argue the last two years are potential anomalies with covid and travellers from Ire thinner than usual etc. 135 just about gets you in so he ends up either bottom weight or misses out by a couple of spots.

Only just catching up with this thread and this whole exchange from last week has got me cracking up.

I admire such stubborn mindedness to not back down even when spectacularly wrong and corrected by numerous posters

        • Third Wind eachway at 25s is a superb price! Sporting John is blatantly the best horse in the race, and i think with the revised marks, third wind is a great price

          • ….Whatsnotoknow (25-1 NRNB) is interesting for M.Morris given a recent coincidence/trend after it finished 4th in the PP Hurdle at the DRF.

Tout est Permis finished 4th in the same race last year before finishing 3rd in the Pertemps, whilst Delta Work also finished 4th before winning the Pertemps.

Reasonable shout but I really can’t see it getting in this year. No harm done anyway nrnb

              • Been a bit of support for Ballyandy after his win today. Not sure what he achieved in beating a 13yo with the well-backed favourite running a shocker. I have always felt he wins despite his jumping, and I suspect that might well let him down on a likely much quicker surface.

                • Just after a bit of confirmation, but I’m right in saying that Rightplacerightime isn’t qualified for the race? He’s got an entry and priced up with a few firms, but doesn’t aeem
to be on any lists of qualified horses.

Nope, hasn't even run in a qualifier.

                      • Sire du berlais has been my pick for this ever since I seen Elliot has marked him down for running here instead of the stayers. This is a poor pertemps compared to the last few years and he’s not a lot higher in the weights than when he beat the story teller a couple of years ago. just read that 7 pound claimer Rob James is booked to ride. He’s no massive price but 10/1 against for a horse that has won this race twice and finished 2nd in the stayers last year against horses I don’t think come close to his level.

I agree with all of that.

He'll be the horse I use to set the standard... and see how many are able to reach his level being "well-in".

I haven't yet, but I'll be surprised if I come up with enough to strongly feel he won't be in the places at least.

Both will be ok if they want to run I'd say
