Yes, I know, but he is on the cusp and still isn't certain to get into this year's. Agreed, 2/3 more lbs won't be a problem. Been brought along steadily for today and his next race.

    • 365 won't price up Wakool...is this to do with my account or are they being pricks?

I've asked them for a couple for this over the past few months along with other races, rarely any problem with other races, I just don't think they like pricing anything up for this before it's run in a qualifier.

Proper tight this year. I'll hope he just qualifies and can get a half decent price in some ew doubles

          • Not sure what to make of Dunboyne today, its a ?100,000 race and is surely there to win and run to his true mark and if he does that then whats left unexposed for this race. Perfect if he comes in the places and thats the plan with something up his sleeve, but why.

            • High value handicap, paying more than last year's Pertemps. Owners need good prize money as well as the dream of winning at the Festival.

              • As has been said, big prize money for today's race so Dunboyne will be trying to win. If he does then I'd fancy him even more for the Pertempts as it's a very competitive race today and he'll still be on a very nice mark for March even with 7/8 lbs more and probably look even better in.

                  Answered your own question really?

Don't know the owners, but win-win for them? If they win 100k today, do you think they'll be upset because they might not have as good a chance now in March?

Maybe they're only interested in Cheltenham winners, but I think that's unlikely, or why run today.

I think he'll be running to win today.

                  • You can hear Gordon talk about Dunboyne on What A Shout this week, around the 10:30 mark:

Not giving much away on his chances this weekend. Makes me laugh how he talks about the horse being unlucky in running and getting stopped everywhere last time. Yes, what a shame he only finished 5th, Gordon.

Haha the man is a genius, I love him!

Have backed Dunboyne for this, but don't know what I want from him today! Also with the past Gordy Pertempts horses I feel way more bullish about, this one was just pure trend backing and not expecting him to live up to his previous runners!

I suppose my real concern is, if he wins today and goes up 5/6lbs then gets some uk tax on top which could put him mids 140s will he be still unexposed enough for the festival. If he wins today, ive backed him today and have him for this race, do i cash out for the pretemps or keep the bet assuming he's a 150 horse .which he'll probably need to be...imo if he wins today then he's less likely to win at the festival..

Will be in a similar position so let's hope we have to work that out together
