Apologies if somebody's already mentioned it.
Just noticed Goshen out to 6-1 for the Champion Hurdle.
Haven't looked at oddschecker for a while so might be old news.

Think it's an error on oddschecker. Keeps jumping between 4/1 and 6/1 with Boyle sports.
Went into local William Hill shop yesterday and in shop Stayers Ante Post screen showed Thyme Hill at 16/1 and Sire Du Berlais at 20's. Clearly wrong ? but asked for the odds at counter and got them to sign slip.
Popped into local WH shop again. In shop prices are bigger on some horses than online. Notably Monkfish 12/1, Thyme Hill 16/1, Sire De Berlais 20/1, Champ 14/1, Abacadabras 10/1. Helped myself to some. Guy at counter looked up prices for me and same on his screen.

Is that purely over the counter or on the machine as well?

Those prices date back to 30th March, your shop must have a glitch or be stuck in a time warp.
Abacadabras dropped to 10/1 On 30th March and dropped again, to 8s with WH on 6th April.
Sire Du Berlais dropped to 20/1 on 30th March and dropped again, to 16’s with WH on 6th April.
There’s a theme to those price moves, and the ones you were quoted today.
The machines are always up to date, so it must be the screens that are wrong.

Over the counter only. Machine are linked to online prices. They all seem way wrong to me but I got guy to write price on and initial it so they'll have to honour them whatever.

Cheers, might go down to my local and see if I can grab a couple of them prices
The old palpable error.
Was a time bookies would use this regularly but more regulation these days.
They would be obliged to pay out at the correct odds at the time of placing the bet, they wouldn’t be able to void bets just because they made an error...

When you walk in, in March 2021 with a handwritten ticket that says 20/1, and not the 14’s online on 2nd September 2020 who is going to know?

Took them to court last year and lost re same thing. They said if the shop looked up odds and initialed them they would have paid out as all of it would have been on CCTV. Unfortunately I wrote the odds on the slip myself that time and the girl on counter just put it through. Learnt my lesson the hard way!
