My best mate from uni isn't a huge fan, but when we was at uni we watched each day of the Festival in a bar so he was happy enough with that. Since uni we've made it a plan to meet in Nottingham every Gold Cup day, watch Cheltenham in a sports bar with a 15ft screen, happy hour prices all day, then carry on drinking all evening and a nightclub until the early hours. Painful Saturday morning train back home
You’re not in the same group as Anand & Stew are you? Sounds awfully similar to what some of my mates I went to uni with do - they head up to Nottingham every gold cup day for exactly that.

I'm not mate, but I've probably seen them around. Any particular reason they choose Nottingham? Students from up there or?

Genuinely LOL'd at the putting racing post on the wall like being in a bookies post.

I'm gutted to be missing it this year, but racing against time to get my flat done up and moved in before March, I'd love the grand opening to be March 16th and have a few racing/gambling oriented mates round. Probably be 4 of us on the drink and watching the racing - usually co-incides with Champions League week which will be good for a few all day sessions. Only downside is I was looking forward to being able to bet in running properly at home, and that could be dangerous with a lock of drink me.

We went Nottingham uni back in the day....so some of their pals are locals, so that’s where they choose to base themselves every gold cup day....if you used to play poker @ DTD or Gala you might know them

Might join you there Ryan in 2022... 10 mins taxi ride from my front door! I usually spend GC day hungover at home after a big day in Cheltenham on the Thursday.

Having barely used any annual leave for the last 12 months I’ve booked the week off as our holidays reset at the end of March. Nowt planned but I know for sure I’ll be buzzing with excitement all week!!

Seems like an unnecessary offer to make if I’m honest Somer...

That was funny Somer. You have a few members looking for delete post button!

I have not gone for some years, found it to busy last few years, but love watching and discussing with my mates in the pubs, and we usually have a.day trip away on the Friday. Not sure how I will feel if i am just watching by myself.

Would think pubs are still going to be closed March. But can hope.
