I've got a few mates who are aware of it, but borderline whether they even have the week off.

Not that I'm ungrateful, I have all of you
but it's nice to actual 'debate' in person isn't it!

Kev our group for the festival started mainly of lads who just liked to tag along just for the piss up, apart from a couple of us who loved the racing. Now a few more take the racing more serious, one of the lads even does a lot of ante-post now.

you know we all love you here

      3. We all become employees of that business for four days. We work together and out work is vital.
      4. We have to attend a vital meeting for four days from the 16th to the 19th March.
      5. We pay to attend the meeting becuase it's vital for our future development, and ability to do our job.
      6. The amount we pay is equal to the amount we have to pay the farmer for his remote barn
      7. The meeting has conferencing facilities. I.e. overhead projector and giant screen which is permanantly tuned into Racing TV.
      8. It's needs to be a stay over because of the nature of the meeting.
      9. Catering is supplied.
      10. The beer isn't Carling and costs less than $5.05p.
      11. We don't get fined ?800.
      12. We do get paid ?500 by the Government to stay at home after our positive covid test on our return
      Nailed It Haha

I've accepted plan 4 is all I will get, I just don't see the restrictions going by then. Previous tiers only allowed household mixing in tier 1, which just isn't going to happen.
Yet we can trapse around busy shops, get our haircut, go to the bookies, shop to our hearts content in supermarkets, have a builder in your house.........all in Tier 3........but we can't have 2 mates around who you know have been as careful as me for the last year. Pile of fucking bollocks. I'm having a safe Fez get together whatever.

Usually i work the tuesday and wednesday which is a bit painful sometimes trying to concentrate (im a plumber and setting the phone up to watch a race is a bit awkward in a customers house!) I find it so hard to get anything done as im on the betting sites all day anyway, so this year im blowing work out for the week so i can really concentrate with my daily betting..i have 4 pals of mine that have booked the week off and each of us are hosting a day each so HOPEFULLY can start the morning off in the cafe, go pick up the beers for the day and bowl around to whoevers house it is for the day..ive got day 1 (a great tactical manouvre) so i can spend the morning of the first day having a proper look at the markets etc in the comfort of my trackys and dressing gown...absolutely buzzing now..first stop is leapordstown for the appetizers!!

            Sorry......forgot to say......cunts!

There, apologies if I've offended anyone but the Fez week is what I look forward to the whole year and it's now been destroyed. I'm being selfish I know but it's just shit. I'm not a religious man but I'll be praying that we can all somehow have a cracking week in March however we propose to spend it. Cheers to you boys and girls !

Since uni we've made it a plan to meet in Nottingham every Gold Cup day, watch Cheltenham in a sports bar with a 15ft screen, happy hour prices all day, then carry on drinking all evening and a nightclub until the early hours. Painful Saturday morning train back home
                Sounds bloody brilliant that Ryan!

I still maintain if I had a list of posters on here I plan to meet in person at the racing at some point, you’re on that list. One day after covid bud!

I'll stop development on the Fat Jockey Tinder app, as it's already redundant.

You just had to bring the tone down didn’t you

I’m just in a good mood today after a fair few in recent weeks of the opposite.

You can be on my fantasy FJ list too Kevla - if only for The Office quotes with Charlie.

Amen to that mate. Is there a Bierkeller down your neck of the woods? That's where we watch it.

Since we won't be going to Gold Cup Day in person (first time apart from Foot and Mouth year in 30 years), aiming to set up a boozy Skype call with usual mates and watch the races from home.

It won't be the same at all but if its the best we can hope for, its what it is. We are pooling tips ahead of Friday to have some shared E/W cross doubles, a large go at the Placepot and a Secret Santa equivalent per race where you stick a few quid e/w on a longshot as a gift to someone just before off and they keep any winnings.

All a bit tame in reality but by heck we won't half make up for it in 2022!

There’s one in Fenchurch Street which isn’t too hard to get too from here with Romford having a 15 minute train into central London.

Not sure I can remember being in one of those more than once (pretty sure I might have been in there for the England cricket World Cup final a couple of years ago).

When we used to live in Swindon/Wootton Bassett, we would go at least a couple of days every year, but since we moved I normally watch it at home anyway.

Like a few on here the days will start early with a trip to the shops for the Racing Post.

Tuesday of Cheltenham week my brother & a couple of mates will come to mine around 10.30 for bacon butties and studying the form.
We will then pick the kitty bets ( I will have already put on what I want either antepost or the night before), then get steadily bladdered cheering them on.
Usually after the 5th race we’d all go the pub but will have to figure out some other way to watch the last two this year. Any chance ITV will put all seven on?

Friday we will do it all again at my brother’s, who has built a bar in his cellar complete with large overhead projector screen. So that’s not a bad alternative

Wed / Thur I usually watch them on my own in front the TV. So look forward to following & joining in with all the banter on here.

This thread has got the juices flowing - can’t wait now
