In view of todays Rathhill news (more likely staying over hurdles) Ive added a small bet at 75/1 ew for the champion hurdle. The bet is with hills and ive used my boost. I wouldnt normally place a bet like this, but when i spoke to Nicky in August (he had been drinking) this was the lad that he couldnt keep to himself. Think I mentioned he had that Santini glimpse in his eye, Ive seen enough of him over the years to know that this horse must be showing them something well above average at home, and Im happy to pay a small stake to find out at a big price if my assessment is right. Id imagine he will be chucked in for a handicap somewhere if they decide to go that way, although if Nicky is thinking hes up to CH standard he might not want to throw him into a big field hcp early in the season. His Sandown run was clearly a pretty poor experience for the horse and Id of thought a low key small field race somewhere first personally.

I love the ‘he had been drinking’ comment, that me giggle. I know someone who claims to know Nicky Henderson and whenever he passes on info it nearly always from an encounter where he’s been drinking. Gordon Elliot is another that loosens up after a bit of liquor apparently. Thanks for info Billmag, I think I’ll follow you in on that but may play safe and top up my ‘any race’ bet I already have on Rathhill.

Maybe this year isn't his year?

Sadlier continuing to shorten today for the champion hurdle, been given really positive mentions by Willie and Ruby recently you'd imagine must be showing well at home and guess people are reading into the form line with Espoir when looking to have him beat before coming down.Last edited by Run4Home; 29 October 2019, 09:00 PM.

Falling at the last hurdle in a g3 at Naas is not the best form on offer, What Espoir did after that and then at Chelt makes it look very very good obvs. However that isolated race is definitely not the best on offer and Saldier has to improve just as much as Espoir did over another 2-3 runs yet.

Saldier was a good EW bet at 33s 20s. He may have won that race arguably. But espoir d'allen comes of the bridle, ridden in every race, its what he found off the bridle, and running through the line that made him what he was. Hes a far stronger finisher than saldier. The way ruby rides any horse, he makes them look like he has so much horse underneath him, we'll never know what saldier would have found for pressure.
The forgotten horse Sharjah was the other one hitting the line very hard last year. He's value for his winning distances imo.https://scooby91horseracingtips.com/
