  • First one up for the season today, Double: La Bague Au Roi (King George) & Thomas Darby (JLT), 390/1. Think the Kempton track will play into the mare’s hands and Thomas Darby impressed me a lot in the Supreme, decent trainer in Olly Murphy who did well with v.few runners at this year’s Festival & has already said they could step him up as others have mentioned on here already rather than Arkle I’m on.

Not sure I can take credit for it, I think it may have been someone else, although I can't remember everything I post as I waffle a lot too

I do remember putting Defi up at 50's and forgetting to back him though after being lightly ridiculed on here

With you all the way on LBAR in the KG. Think she is an incredible ew bet at 16's. Unbeaten at Kempton beating top novices Lostintranslation and Santini last Xmas and also gets that rediculously generous Mares allowance. She has a fantastic chance. Stuck £50 Ew on her so I hope we are both lucky!!

        • Not sure what they have in mind for the story teller. But that was race course schooling from Russel there, he was asked for absolutely zero, dropped out the back. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get questioned, as he was travelling within himself.

...Elliott mentioned the Grand National as a target but not sure how that strategy would relate to this performance. I looked for a price a few days ago but I couldn’t see it in the betting.

              • Anyone heard anything about Pipes Eden Du Houx? Trainers record at the festival is a negative but his form book reads very well.

Really like him as a novice hurdle prospect too. fancied him strongly for the champ bumper before not being declared. Obviously been a long time since pipe had a horse go anywhere near in grade 1 novice hurdles.

Hoping he doesn't get messed around plotting him for a handicap somewhere. He could and should be better than that.

The Ascot bumper he won turned out to be good form indeed but he’s as likely to turn up in the Pertemps as he is being competitive in the main novice hurdles. You’d hope this horse is better than that and Pipe can get him to a decent level.

Sullivan states in Mark Howard book it’s gone to Paul Nicholls and he hopes it runs this season
