2026 Novice Hurdlers

Problem with that is the noise around many others also.
And he was still available at 50's for both races immediately prior to his maiden win.
I think we all kind of agree to be fair.
He could be all that, for sure, as we've seen them produce super horses year after year.
But it's odds on that he's not.

Its one of those isnt it

If you're on at prices, you're happy

If you've missed the prices, you'll want to take him on

Nearly always the case in antepost punting when it comes to horses heading the markets.

I would have rather he went for a Turners, as looked an easier race and maybe less harsh on a horse having just his 2nd run under rules.

If you think you've a dozen top level horses that you can't split at home, you've probably just got a dozen good horses, one or two will step up from the novices they've ran so far, but if they had another Douvan or Faugheen they'd have known it pretty quickly.
Don’t agree but can’t be arsed any more my friend.

No horse has won the supreme of 1 run have they?

It’s more common I. The Supreme than the Turners. I think I read some where that a few have had 2 run but they all had flat or bumper experience. If MP had gone for the Turners and won it he would have been the most inexperienced winner on its history as he had not even run in bumpers etc. maybe that was a factor in coming here!

This is exactly it, and why I don’t get involved. If I was on at decent odds (as I am with el Cairos) I’d be super happy, though no chance I’d back either of them now. So as you say, I played against them, if MP wins, he could be the gem they think he is.

Was definitely good noise at Xmas time about him, prior to him running 👍
Ah right that’s fair enough, I don’t recall seeing or hearing much at the time.

I remember the noises around Leader and then he duly got the Xmas entry.

The Doctor was hyped up by a lot pre season on the back of his bumper run last year, not sure if it was yard noise or a lot of folk like ourselves.

Yeah, I was talking to a mate of mine who is an on the day backer.
The bet now for the supreme has to be Talk the Talk NRNB, then if not declared Sunday -Old Park Star, especially if available at around 5-2 or bigger on the day.

Dozy old Tony Mullins said it best.
He mentioned that when he goes into Willies yard, every one in the yard talks up a different horse.
This is natural simply cos of the sheer numbers, and also the workers will have there own sections and develop their own favourites.
Although I think they are probably just winding the old fucker up.

Spot on, this is exactly where I am at. I also love MP coming here as no doubt he will be over bet which leaves others ending up bigger than they should be.

Yep, and just take it on the chin and watch and admire him if he bolts up.
There'll be plenty of races left to have a go at.

Also on this, maybe people are little more reluctant to share stuff on this forum nowadays
Let's hope not @darlojim as most of the information on FJ has been solid, give how many horses, stables and races etc there's bound to be a few misses surely the people giving us this information don't stop because of the odd hiccup :giggle:

That’s where I’m at, couldn’t agree more. Won’t back a single as nothing points to doing this, value/price, experience etc. If he wins he will be one to follow in the future that’s for sure!

Hoping Old Park goes to a reasonable price to either have a single on the day or even double with Kopek.

I wouldn’t have a clue how people’s willingness to share stuff on here has changed, maybe you do I don’t know. I’m just an ordinary punter, I have no connections, I have no friends with connections. What I do know is that the person with knowledge is now more of a threat to me than they are to my bookmaker and that’s a shame. Present company excepted of course.

Really hope TTT goes Supreme. The race has everything, runners who like to be on the speed, runners who like to be off the speed and runners with jumping questions. JOB with the best novice he thinks hes ever had. Gordon with one he thinks is the fastest hes ever had. Hobbs potentially back in limelight. Hendo v Willie. Hype v form. Havent looked forward to a Supreme like this in a long time.

That 4yr old filly of skeltons in the mares novice looks weak on exchange.
obviously confirmation day tomorrow.
Not much money but looks weak enough.

O'Leary on Ballyfad in the Turners Novices' Hurdle...

"I think Ballyfad thought he won as well [last time when close second at the DRF]. He’ll go two and a half [miles] I’d say. Gordon and we all feel he's hopefully better over two and a half.

"He's coming up for a trip. Both races are very deep and it's hard but we hope for starters that he’s good enough to compete, and if he's good enough to compete, then we hope to get lucky."

But MP is only going to the Supreme because of Birthday Boy isn't he ?
