2026 Champion Hurdle

Yep, that the risk you must take. If he bolts up in the Xmas Hurdle he'll go a lot shorter.

Sir Gino is constitution hill v2 - he nearly died, he won't be the same horse unfortunately. His outstanding performance was is chase debut and not hurdling

I agree he has to prove he is fit, but if he is then he is a very big threat. He was unbeaten over hurdles and won the Fighting Fifth easily last year.

Was just thinking this

Hes missed 2 festivals
Almost died

Youd have to be mad to back him at anything shorter than 12/1 id say

We have absolutely no idea whether he retains his ability

Would there be a change of plans now with Willie. Anzadam to leopardstown and Lossie back to kempton?

Agree with the price too short with the issues he’s had.
Also agree, we have no idea re his ability now, which means he might retain it.
The horse will tell us when he runs.

Proper bingo card the champion hurdle this year, absolute guess up who lands there...
I'm thinking an improving handicapper could be the way to go at this stage, pros & cons for everything at this stage.

Yeah I can see that, I haven't got a strong enough view to be honest.
Mullins knows how good Kopek is so with what's gone to now it wouldn't be the biggest shock if he sent Kargese back over timber...

With so many questions surrounding who will actually end up in the champion hurdle, is Lossie an absolute freebie @ 7/2 for the mares?

With doubts about where she ends up I wouldn't say she's a freebie at 7/2 but she would certainly be a fraction of that price if she were to line up, so yes I'd say 7/2 is a play, especially if you have her in your champion hurdle book at a price...

I'd have the questions of who turns up in the Champion making her more likely to go there?

What price do you make her to go to the Mares? And then what price would she be if she did? I guess that's the best way of looking at it...

If she was mine, I would send her to the Christmas Hurdle to take on Sir Gino. If she wins that, put her away and all roads lead to the Champion Hurdle
