2026 Gold Cup

Would love to see TJM come here (pocket talking) took the 40/1 EW as one of my 1st bets.

I think the King George form is being overrated, given its historic failure to serve as a good prep race for the GC and that this years race turned into a sprint. Not to say the horses running in it won’t be sighted, just that the race as it was isn’t factoring in my thoughts much.

I’d take GW and JB out of the KG to run big races in the Gold Cup
Not sure which ones out of today , but certainly would not give up on GDC

He'll definitely go GC Somer. They simply have to have a go . Can always go Ryanair next year.

Yes, I think I agree. I think the extra 2 furlongs and stiffer test will suit them both more than The Jukebox Man. Mind you, I thought TJM wouldn’t be seen in the KG, so there’s that.

Willie says very happy with Galopin run. Didn't expect him to win as he missed his pre run. DRF next and Paul won't be getting off him .

Completely with you on this. The gold cup winner can’t be trailing round at the back of the tele in grade 1s. Absolute joke, and the drift said it all before the off.

The drift before the off and then the trainer coming out saying “he never traveled or jumped” annoys me

it was known it wasn’t a going day

Note: I did not back the horse.

Just a bad look. Langer Dan v2 at this rate, but for a race where you don’t need to work a mark down

35/1 for the F2F / GDC double is just fantastic.

I think GW wins the KG if Townsend doesn't mess up with his whip, but I'm not going to forget the fact he's a stone worse at Cheltenham any time soon.
 
Well before today my bets for the Gold Cup were:

Jango Baie @ 20/1
Lecky Watson @ 66/1
Stellar Story @ 100/1

Happy with the Jango price, just hope he can jump well enough for a Gold Cup, he’s looked patchy every time I watch him but he seems to always be there at the end.

Lecky Watson just looks outclassed in this company. I have a feeling he’ll be a grand national horse off a pretty good mark. Something still makes me think he could have something in come March if he does get a sniff at the GC, but he’d need some serious improvement.

Stellar Story another one that sadly looks outclassed. Will still take 100/1 knowing that Cheltenham is his track, but getting outstayed today was disappointing.

As for what wins, who knows after today. Sticking with my 3 darts and hoping for a miracle.

I think GW is a lot better horse now, much more reliable and to be fair he’s still been pretty consistent when he was more of a character shall we say.
His Arkle win was not a stone worse.He was very good
He stays 3m and imo should have won the KG.
He’s a major player imo.
