Far West is short enough and King has said lots of nice stuff about Handazan on the alan king stable tour thread. Gelded since last run too I believe.

Our father most likely winner but highland lodge seemingly the one who will relish the ground. Court in Motion preferred race is lingfield.

If i had to have abet in third it would be pepite rose.

    Coneygree my pick.

    Astracad ew but looks trappy.

    Zarkandar with the weight advantage.

Oscar Whisky but no bet for me.

As always, it is a competitive card at Cheltenham on Saturday, and I believe I have solid each-way chances with each of my three rides. I hope that at least one of them will win.

His Excellency (1.20), my mount in the Jenny Mould Memorial Chase, won here at Cheltenham three starts ago, and clearly likes the course. But, he looks the second string for the David Pipe yard. The Pond House hopes are pinned on the promising and lightly-weighted Garynella, to be ridden Tom Scudamore, and the five year-old is worthy of close consideration.

Boyfromnowhere (1.55) is a good, consistent type, who won well at Ffos Las last time in soft ground. He stays well and will be suited by the three miles. The winner will have to get the trip well here and my horse will definitely have no problems there.

The one to beat is undoubtedly Coneygree, a half-brother to Hennessy Gold Cup winner Carruthers. He was very impressive in winning here by seven lengths last month and is expected to find this race ideal. Coneygree has won three of his four starts and it would not surprise me, with a bit of experience and maturity, if he proves even better than Carruthers.

In the Paul Stewart IronSpine Charity Gold Cup (2.30), Nadiya De La Vega has a definite each-way chance. She ran so well when third to Al Ferof and Walkon in the Paddy Power Chase last month, and she will not mind the ground, which had become testing on Friday. She finished 12 lengths behind Walkon and is 5lb better off, which, in theory, is not enough to reverse the placings. However, we will still have a good crack at proving the mathematicians wrong.

Now that Unioniste has sneaked into the field on the bottom rung of the weights, with Harry Derham claiming 5lb, he is going to be very dangerous.
