Ah thanks - I'm lucky enough to have access to HorseRaceBase, which is an outstanding resource if people aren't aware of it for the types of questions you guys are posing so just trying to confirm/disprove any musings at a very basic level.

On the Mullins side of things, I think it will be very interesting to see his trend for the next 3 years. It probably improved as the Grand Annual (a race he had no success in) was replaced with the Mares Chase (which he basically farms) on the Friday. Next it will be interesting to see the effect of him losing the unintentional handicap good thing (Saint Roi, Galopin, State Man) - can he replace these with other novices that have had 4 runs (IET type horses) or classier horses on the "downgrade" (e.g. Sharjah, Wicklow Brave, Arctic Fire)? Or will his strike rate suffer?

Just looking through the potential runners for the Gold Cup and i think the one that is still very good value is Minella Indo.

      Form figures at Cheltenham: 1212
Yes he is now a 10 year old but he hasn't been over raced by any means. Light campaign this year but beat Stattler who is now about 1/3 of the odds and treads the path used successfully by Al Boum Photo.

I think there is still a chance A Plus Tard doesn't go - and if he does his campaign has been far from ideal. Therefore potential that Rachel rides? A positive if so.

Ahoy Senor/BMG/Noble Yeats/Sounds Russian/Protektorat all have form links with each other and are much of a muchness with various ? over them to some degree.

Hewick ideally needs better ground than is perhaps likely and "shouldn't" be classy enough to win a Gold Cup.

Conflated is a Leopardstown specialist but otherwise has form lines with horses not good enough for the Gold Cup this year.

The Mullins pair are perhaps the most likely winners IF all goes smoothly and Galopin is what the yard seem to think he is but for a nice EW play, particularly if we could get some extra places the I think Minella Indo would make an excellent selection for the yankee.

I do still like him. Doesn't take much past Festival Form of 1212 really.... think he might still be 20/1 with additional places on the day so that'll be something to consider.

Morning FJs you have all given me food for thought I'm still undecided on whether to play for bigger odds with the extra places or go for shortish more likely ones, I'm mulling this over whilst watching these preview nights ( have really taken to Jane Mangan who knows her stuff ), Please keep ideas for selections coming as I want to be as well informed as possible. In the final countdown now and the excitement grows more daily, Good Luck to everyone of us!

The one horse whose price is still holding but his claims are clear is Favori de Champdou in the Potato race, I'm really surprised this one isn't half his price.
It's a deep race but this one has shown improvement on each run and looks to be a straightforward type.

If you're considering each way then the County, Gold Cup and M Pipe look to be the races.
But, when you finalise your picks you won't know the place terms so it would be worth (I think) getting people to hold off until final decs are confirmed, I';m sure you'll be getting 5 places in the Gold Cup and 6/7 places in the two handicaps...

Thanks Ista you made a valid point as the extra places can be invaluable to eachnway bets

Yeah just to add to this, I did a variation of my choices on the Friday last year with Surprise Package 10/1 County, Freedom to Dream 20/1 Pipe and Senior Lombardy 66/1 Foxhunters. Suprise was 6th, Senior 5th and Freedom To Dream was 4th (making him the only horse placed at pre-declaration terms that year). It paid handsomely to wait and would have been incredible if I'd picked The Nice Guy over Shantreusse for the other leg...

Favori for me too. Suspect Gordon's Three Card Brag, Willie's Embassy Gardens and now the horse of the last 2 weeks, Corbett's Cross, have helped keep that price high. Plus there's a lot of love for Henry's Hiddenvalley Lake. A deep race it is.

Lot of Joy in the Mares Novices. Still 7/8s.

Current thoughts on the Friday card:-

No strong view on the Triumph (at the prices).

Quite like Sharjah for the County (on decent ground).

Would be keen on Three Card Brag for the Bartlett (on soft ground) with Seabank Bistro an alternative ew option.

Gold Cup looks particularly competitive but Stattler looks made for it.

Reckon Vaucelet is a very solid FAV for the Hunters (on decent ground) and quite like It's On The Line ew.

Impervious looks very good to me but Allegorie De Vassy looks a machine. Not worried by her novicey jumping last time though Magic Daze could affect how she is ridden.

A speculative ew interest in Au Fleuron at long odds (probably needs to miss the cut in the Coral Cup).

So maybe... Sharjah, Three Card Brag, Vaucelet and Allegorie De Vassy as options for a win Yankee
Or... Sharjah, Seabank Bistro, Stattler and It's On The Line as options for an ew Yankee

2 EW picks worth a shout if considering an EW Yankee

Seabank Bistro- won the same Naas race that The Nice Guy won before winning AB last year. Probably wont see best of SB until sees a fence but i could see running a big race at 22/1 likely to be shorter on day.

Billaway - in 19 hunter chases he has been 1st or 2nd in 16/19) around chelt he is 221. Maybe getting on a bit now but 10/1 looks good value for ew play that you wouldnt be surprised to see him win.

Good evening everyone, after a lot of thought I have decided to go for an each way Yankee for day 4, hoping to utilise the extra places in certain races. My final selections are

                            Colonel Mustard 2.10
                            Rock My Way 2.50
                            A Plus Tard 3.30
                            Benson 5.30

All of the above have good previous experience which I really value. With Corals they sit currently at 14s,25s,13/2 and 14s. Hopefully a nice final day lift for all of us will ensue. Thank you to all of you that made suggestions please know I considered them all. Good Luck Bring On Tuesday

Benson is entered in the Coral Cup, declarations tomorrow, so might want a back up for him if he's declared for that tomorrow Tickety Boo
