  • Extremely impressive. Not much else to say about it

    • Hugely impressive. Utter class. If I were HDB watching that, Kettle will now be heading to the Mares Chase.

      • A lot of his doubters will have been quietened today, what a performance. Puts to bed him seeing out last years race to on the run in.
Townend just sat and picked the gap when he pleased, pulling away up the hill without getting serious.

Don't get me wrong I'm on the horse too, and it was great to see, but he's won at 2/5 and his main rival pulled up? Don't think we learnt much tbh as he'd have been 1/5 without Min in the race and won as a 1/5 shot should!

Looks a very weak division right now though, and he's impossible to oppose.

          • Did he have any doubters? I suppose the Cheltenham factor is still there, but never been a doubt talent wise imo

Not that I've seen. The biggest I saw and took was 12/1. I'm not sure he's going to get much of a return off it, if anything, anyway.

I love Altior, but he won't live with Chacun Pour Soi, and I suspect he'll find a couple of the young guns too good too.

Not sure whether there were many that really doubted his ability, more so his heath and time away from the track

I doubted him being able to remain healthy for a entire season and didnt fancy his initial price for this, based on this

He's turning out to be a high constant horse now, one that is running without any concerns or issues

You haven't been on the forum long enough I'd say

Anyway, moving on - great performance. Lets hope he does the business come March now but really looks a superstar such a shame saw so little over the years.

I thought he was really good today. He was going flat out early on but traveled and jumped so much better than he has this season.

Hopefully that books his ticket for this race.

                        • Also the thing about the hill they made another good point this morning on ITV.

The climb from 2 out at Cheltenham is 10m to the line.

The climb at leopardstown from 2 out is 15m to the line.

Not sure how much the distance is of each but can’t be too much in it.

                          • Energomine ran the same course and dustance 1.3 seconds faster than CPS

Either Energomine is the best we have ever seen or Notebook went way to quick and fell in a hole making CPS look better visually than he actually was. Interesting

                            • Given that both horses won as they liked I wouldn't be giving the times a second thought.
