She won, showed plenty of guts but wouldn't scream a CH horse
Agreed. pity i missed 100s on darver, got 50s tho. Lovely run, very progressive.

That was my gut feeling too.

      That's also how I feel.

      +1 to both comments.

      Glad she won, underwhelmed.

Im out so can only see the races, please let me know what is said by connections

      • My gut feeling after the race would be if honeysuckle went to the champion hurdle she’ll get beat. I think if she goes to the mares and benie turns up she gets beat.

Was going to say the same thing, ill now be backing abacadabras for the supreme now! I spotted 22/1 darver star today and fancied it eqch way but i just wondered if the form was strong enough....and it is!

          • She may be value for more.
If you stop the race before jumping the second last, she was a long way winner. The rest looked like no hopers.
But a really awkward jump may well have altered her momentum more than we think. It's hard to say.
I'm inclined to fee a little underwhelmed myself.
Certainly couldn't see her beating Benie.
            Please supplement Benie Willie.

Please don’t! I’d have to sell my kidney to get back what I’ve got on her for the mares

You can survive with one, so no biggie

Unless you've already flogged one, obviously.

                • She wasn't fluent at a couple of hurdles. Softer ground and the Cheltenham hill will play to her strengths too.

I was quite taken by her but if BDD doesn't make it to the festival then they'll go Mares imo, otherwise they should really go CH.

                  • Slightly underwhelming but if not for that shocking last jump she would have been a clear winner. CH the sensible option rather than taking on Benie Mares for me - though can understand why others would feel differently

                    • They should just supplement BDD for the Champion Hurdle. Think she'd piss in.

                      • One thing I’d say about Honeysuckle is that she dropped down to 2m today and Leopardstown isn’t like a Cheltenham 2m.

I think Cheltenham would suit far better and she reminds me a little of old Oscar Whisky, who ran 3rd in a red hot Champion Hurdle behind Hurricane Fly.

She’s ideal for 2m 4f but the Champion Hurdle and the hill should help.

They've got Saldier though so highly unlikely if he is fit and well.

                          • Think it's a little overboard to say BDD should be supplemented for this race and would win.
She's an incredible mare, and as much as I think distances are often exaggerated and class horses can run over most trips, 3 miles looks absolutely ideal to her and i'd even go as far to say the 2m4 Mares trip is too short for her optimum

I agree, didnt watch the french race in full but the way she came home
In that was a joke! That alone tells me she could win the stayers leg alone the other day, but we will see
