  • Hoping we’ll see the reemergence of the great beast Diese Aba later this week, entries on Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

    • I could be wrong but I’m sure 365 have pushed Birchdale out from 10s to 14s for this race. Have a decent ticket and I’m sure the cash out value has went down also.

      • Feel a bit stupid about saying this, but I have just watched the replays of Champ, and I have probably done him a little disservice.

Prior to the handicap win I had said I expected him to be a graded winner, in the 'General Horse Racing' section of the forum, and I backed him for that accordingly, and the Challow didn't seem quite the crawl as I remembered it from first viewing and the way he quickened was very good.

I still have some doubts about him though, one being as keen as he travels, is he going to get up the hill over slightly further (half a furlong) than what he has run this season? And of course his age would ordinarily be taken as a negative in either the Supreme or Ballymore. The Challow itself is not a race that has covered itself in glory with horses who have won it and come here afterwards too.

I can't bring myself to get involved at the current prices for him, but feel I may have been a little hasty writing him off entirely.

It takes a good man to admit his previous wrongs.

                • To be fair the 8/1 nrnb is a bit of a gift really for Angels Breath

Despite differing owners even I'm not sure Nicky is likely to run Angel's Breath against Champ/Birchdale tbh. It has been noted that they really like Angel's Breath so unsure why he would pitch one against another when they are his best.

Can see the idea of backing NRNB as it won't matter too much anyway, if you're happy to tie funds up.

That's a worry though! We don't want to run them against each other Just another owner who contradicts himself!

The hope for me is no matter what Angel's Breath does tomorrow, that Al Dancer gets hammered in the Betfair hurdle and AB can continue his journey in the Supreme.
