Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

How is DDC in @ 7's and WR at 10's when in receipt of 20+ lbs today??
Yep off levels. It's a typical reaction of bookies when they take a result at face value without context (taking factors like weight into it.) Always a good time to be on guard for this kind of thing straight after a race.

I'm sure it'll correct itself in the next day or so though when they realise/money dictates

The weights for the Bumper are 11.5 (5&6 y-olds), 10.11 for 4 y-olds and a 7lb fillies allowance. So DDC (receiving 15 pounds) will meet WR on 6lbs worse terms than today.
Carter Mckay will take some beating - beat Bakmaj well and I know Peter Fahey thought he was/is a superstar. He's about my only decent ante post left now

        • DDC surely won't run at Cheltenham. Nicky hates the race so doubt he'd let such a young horse run in the race.

          • I think as a 4yo mare she will be off 10st 4lb versus 11st 5lb so not levels but a fair turnaround on today's terms.

Ive just jumped aboard the Western Ryder bandwagon at 25's. Well spotted that price Kev!

                • Really pleased with that run from Western Ryder. Got a soft spot for the horse after he landed me a pretty healthy patent. Roll onto Cheltenham!

                  • just for info purposes lads and lasses "Daphne Du Clos travelled very well and stayed travelling very well. A mile and a half probably caught her out last time and they finished in a bit of a heap. There are races for her at Sandown and Aintree, but I'll see what Jared (Sullivan, owner) wants to do. She's obviously pretty smart - Nicky Henderson, trainer."

                    • I mentioned on the very first page of this thread that Western Ryder hits a bumper system ive cobbled together so really happy with todays run and feel that he is a serious player in the champion bumper. The shape of the market is very appealing and he could easily go off 2nd fav on the day now for this.

                      • Bayoffreedom - Thanks for this info about Carter McKay..."I think the 14/1 is a decent price. All of the Irish dogs were barking that he was best of Mullin's Bumper horses before his debut at Christmas." - It prompted me to invest at 14s so cheers

                          • No proper interest in this race but happy to follow the whatever Ruby rides angle. Maybe Patrick doesnt really have first pick. If I was paying training fees I know who id rather have up.

                            • Western Ryder's connections delighted with that run, convinced he's the best bumper horse around and although the winner went away that one isn't guaranteed to head for Cheltenham and will be much worse off at the weights.
                              All systems go...

                              • Can see why they are delighted but best Bumper horse around?!

Did they not watch Carter McKay? That was some performance for me.
