Istrabraq, that was a strategy that used to serve me very well when Quevega and Big Bucks were cleaning up, all my Q and BB doubles were on by the start of the NH season and when I fancied anything else anti post I would double it with one of the two which were normally about evens iirc.
This season it will be Faugheen and Annie, and it seems a popular plan.
At around the same price I'd stick AP in there ahead of Faugheen, it's a much weaker division and that is her guaranteed target, there's an argument the mare should be 1/2 or shorter now.
I rarely play ante post these days but come Jan/Feb when targets become clearer I may well resurrect the strategy....
I would hold off with AP, she is 95% to run in the mares, but come January that may change. I'd stick with Faugheen and whatever else you fancy for your doubles

We were all mightily relieved when she got up and walked away after her fall at the Cheltenham Festival. She bounced back to win the Grade 1 mares’ race at Punchestown by ten lengths and we’re looking at starting her campaign in the Hatton’s Grace at Fairyhouse at the end of this month. Hopefully, she’ll avoid the sort of mishap she had around this time last year which kept her off the track until Cheltenham. She’ll probably be taking on the males for much of the season and we’ll decide later whether we’ll continue down that road or aim for the Grade 1 mares’ races later in the season.
Just don't want to risk to much on Annie until later on in the season,so most of my 100% bonus added singles will be on Faugheen who is certain to be in the CH!
I also got heavily involved in the Mullins 4 on the Tuesday last year...could well be shaping up for the same thing this season...praying that this Min is the real deal, but can't find out to much about it
There was no visible impression that the gold cup had left it's toll and i think that as they was able to give him such an easy return was tbe perfect start to the season for him, that hack round sandown would have only blown away any cobwebs, he had a good blow after and would have to come on a lot for that, i was looking at my ante post bets and most recently i have done Faugheen, Annie Power, Un De Sceaux and then layed three of the gold cup runners in Vautour, Coneygree and don cossack to give me 3 cracking accumulators, hada peach come in this year when i had Douvan, Faugheen and Un De Sceaux followed by Peace and Co in the JCB hurdle at 9/2 ante post, looking for the same ante post value again this year!!
Barring any injuries i think they all get there and they all run in their predicted races, i think come the festival they will take the penalty kick with annie power and go for the mares once again, even though i would like to see her in the world hurdle, but to me even at the skinny odds of about 5/4 those trio look good to me because if they do run then come the day they will be odds on!!

Hi GJT Its a nice bet if they all get there and more likely than most that willie will look after them.
Id still rather take half the price and/or promos the weeks before.
I see where your coming from morning glory but i just cant see how I could manage to get those 4 horsed at combined odds of around 85/1 now two weeks before the festival, would rather chance my part of my funds on that now, say £25 e/w accumulator, then lump on more at the time when i know there guaranteed and fit to run, always been a massive ante post punter for the festival

My 2c. I think one of the things the last few festivals have shown is that you can easily overthink the Grade 1 races so I wouldnt knock any punter backing favourites in these. Annie and Faugheen look very solid to me even this far out. It is harder I think to take a strong view on novice events yet.
Take Penglai Pavilion ( that lester has backed in wrong race ) I think he is a far better bet than the favourites in Supreme and Neptune imo for simple reason that these seem to be based on as yet very dubious looking 2015 Cheltenham Festival Bumper form. Id like to see the novice chase good things jump a fence too....the JLT also a big fly in the ointment here. Vautour winning this rather than Arkle must have mucked up many accas last year.
anyway ramble over. If strategy works for you go with it. If its not broke etc.
My main ante post multi bet is Faugheen 11/10,No More Heroes 8/1 RSA, Bellshill 12/1 Neptune, limini 6/1 Mares Novice,Shaneshill 10/1 JLT, Vautour 4/1 Gold Cup,50p ew lucky 63......Vautour not looking so good in this bet now otherwise ok!
