We have been tabled below the career wins of the top 10 winning most jump jockeys currently riding.
Tony McCoy is now just 56 wins short of a remarkable career total of 4000. At his present rate of progress he should get there in the second half of October.
Other jockeys with milestones on their radar for the current season include Davy Russell and Jason Maguire who both have 1000 career wins in sight. Before McCoy began rewriting the record books 1000 winners was considered a remarkable career total for a jump jockey. Stan Mellor was the first to achieve the feat in December 1971. In addition to the men below notable tallies have been notched up by by John Francome (1138 wins), Peter Scudamore (1678), Richard Dunwoody (1,699), Peter Niven (1002), Adrian Maguire (1054), Mick Fitzgerald (1310) and Charlie Swan (1225).
