The Reynoldstown Novices Chase run over 3 miles at Ascot racecourse in mid-February is seen as an important trial for the RSA Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
Last years winner O’Faolians Boy had his prep in this race and the 2012 RSA winner Bobs Worth also ran in the race finishing runner up to Invictus with Silvinaco Conti back in fourth that day.
The 2008 winner Albertas Run followed up in the RSA and subsequently added two Ryanair Chases to become a three time festival winner. Other notable horses on the roll of honour include Our Vic, One Man, Royal Athelete and Mr Mulligan.
