Kempton Racing Plus Chase Trends

The 2013 Racing Plus Chase (previously the Racing Post Chase) is due to take place at Kempton on Saturday 23rd February.

The race is run over three miles and has served as a Gold Cup prep and Grand National Trial. Horses on the roll of honour include the Grand National winners Rhyme ‘n’ Reason (1988) and Rough Quest (1996).

Desert Orchid (1990) and Docklands Express (1991 and 1992) were also notable winners in the early nineties.

  • Nacarat has won twice in the last 4 years for trainer Tom George

  • 6 of the last 10 winners won last time out

  • No winner with an SP bigger than 11-1 in the last decade
  • Winners rated between 141 and 157
  • 8 out of 10 winners carried more than 11 stone
