Kauto Star, the greatest steeplechaser of the modern era has been retired. In 41 races, he was victorious 23 times, only unplaced on seven occasions and was the first horse to win over £2m in prize money over jumps.
Kauto Star ran in the UK for more than seven years, during which time he never finished out of the first three when completing a race.
