AP McCoy had this to say about playing a round of golf with Tiger Woods back in 2010:
“They say you should never meet your heroes — unless you are prepared to be disappointed. However Tiger Woods must be the exception that proves the rule and he has gone up hugely in my already stratospheric estimation after I played a round of golf with him at the JP McManus Invitation Pro-Am at Adare Manor, Limerick. It was as good as the time I met Liam Brady. I will be dining out, not that I can ever do much of that, on my round with Tiger for years to come. It was my idea of heaven. One of the great days of my life, right up there but just slightly behind winning the Grand National.”
Tiger did have something of a slump after that but with two tournament wins in 2012 has been installed as favourite for the 141st Open Championship which starts this Thursday at Royal Lytham.
We don’t have a golf expert so are hoping our members can let us have some golf tips on the Fat Jockey Golf Betting Forum. We might even give the top tipster a regular tipping column !
Paddy Power and Stan James are both paying out on seven places each way so look to be the bookies to bet with if you aren’t going all in on the outright winner market. Latest Open Championship odds are below :
