Best bet of today is Happgolucky.
Looked in cracking form at cheltenham and the last time he ran well in the Ultima he followed up here easily.
The race looks much more winnable than the ultima and he;s been dropped a pound.
He'll be much more likely to finish his race off well today on the better ground.
Even at 11 he's probably a bot quicker than most of these.
Had a saver on the fav.

Intense raffles at 18-1 on betfair is the best value bet today I reckon for the big one.
The other bookie markets are shocking today.
Got a team of about 8 but no doubt the best winner is Meetingofthewaters.

Backed Ruchmount other day at 20-1 ew, and park of kings at 16-1 - Rule 4's on these and both still look reasonable prices in that race.

The novice hurdle is fucking wank. Gone off Horaces.
Had a bet on Koktail other day but this race is wank like i said and so is the maghull.

Strong Leader and Kitzbuhel ought to be fighting out the finish in the stayers.
Backed strong leader but saver on Kitzbuhel.

That novice hurdle might be the worst grade 1 of all time

Not backing teahupoo. If the ground is quick enough for nicky to pull everything im happy to let him win with no money on. Though i suspect gordon may pull him after the first race after speaking to danny gilligan.

Docpickedme in the 3m handicap chase. Hopefully gets out in front and he'll take some stopping.

Kitzbuhel in the 3m grade 1 - Strong Leader been poor last twice but I'd expect him to place.

Intense Raffles and Minella Cocooner in the GN. I don't think the ground will be an issue with Intense Raffles and the Irish National is a good pointer to this. Not sure why Danny isn't in MC but Burke is ok and this should be to his liking.

These grade 1 novice events have been extremely poor this year. Only the 2m novice hurdle and 2m4 novice chase I'd say was grade 1 class. Juvenile hurdle was a grade 3 at best, today's 2m4 would be similar at best. They do need to look at the gap between Cheltenham and Aintree but the British horses just aren't good enough to have this many grade 1s in a short period of time. Arguably the Irish aren't much better outside of Mullins though.

I'd be against him just because of the going, on soft / heavy he is 8 from 8, on good - good to soft he is 2 wins 4 places from 9, both wins came on good to soft as on good he is 0 wins 1 place from 2, he should strip fitter for the cheltenham run, just for me he's the best of a poor bunch of stayers and there's a few here who could be better suited to conditions, 10/3 now seems a reasonable price for the risk involved.
Best of lcuk if you go in on him.

He's been boosted to place to evens with a couple of firms so I've mopped that up. It's another beautiful day in the NW so I suspect there's a chance by this and the national the ground is properly good ground.

Probably my worst week punting at Aintree in a long while. Day 3 picks to avoid!

It's already good ground, was rattling enough yesterday, they might have been watering but I'd wager it was mostly for the national course hence the "good to soft".
FWIW evens 4 places is a great price though.

Have had a bet outside of the National which is unusual for me but couldn't believe the price of Monmiral. 40/1 is an insult for a Pertemps winner and a horse who has ran really well around Aintree before. Nicholls hitting some form as well. Had a nice EW bet on him along with my National picks of Iroko, Perceval Legallois and Meetingofthewaters (EW).

                    Good luck everyone.

I'm guessing that is exactly what happened

Pretty glad I didn't bother other than the national so far

Couldn't really see that well on my phone but looked like kitzbuhel was a bit keen

Who said Patrick Mullins is a 7lb penalty?

First Gaelic Warrior and now a Grand National winner.

                          He's laughing at you lads

Skelton going to have to go out all stops to win the championship now. What's the difference between them both?

This place was the first thing I thought off when I clicked who won it

Think Grangeclare West without the mistake at the last.

                              Mullins 1-2-3-5

                              Championship is on

Some horse, carried an anchor round and still won it a shade cosy

I jest, cracking ride, couldn't fault one bit of it, deserves all the plaudits for that one, congratulations Patrick & the team.
