If ridden more prominently he finishes much closer to the fav for me and with some 11/1 around he represents value.
Not convinced it's a race to get too deep in though...
I might’ve been temped by the JOB horse at bigger odds as was impressive LTO, but Fred winter winners don’t have a great record here, and too short now. Given the weight swing I’ll give murcia and Wendrock another chance (I backed both at Cheltenham). But as you say, small stakes…save the bank for lossie and grey dawning later on

      not ideal
I too am hoping those first time cheek pieces wake him up, was underwhelmed by the last run, for all I’m a big fan of his over this track and trip. Hoping Paul bounces out more prominently tomorrow!!

Bryan Carver is 2 from 5 runners in the last 14 days.
Both wins came in chases. 2 from 2 in chases in last 14 days.
Made all to win with one. Attempted to make all with the other but a sloppy jump cost him the lead 5 out, which he regained approaching the last.

He rides Gidleigh Park in todays opener, I'm expecting he'll be taken on for the lead today by croke park, it could be some spectacle with arkle winner jango baie and last seasons Aintree hurdle winner impaire et passe tracking the pair in behind.

I expect Gidleigh parks superior jumping to take him into the lead quite comfortably and I don't expect anything to be passing him today.

Mostly dutching today, with a couple of savers thrown in too:

Impaire Et Passe 10/3 / Croke Park 9/2 (Saver)
          Murcia 11/1 / Naturally Nimble 15/2
Ahoy Senor 15/2 / Gaelic Warrior 7/1 (Saver)
My Drogo 6/1 / Gracchus De Balme 16/1
The Folkes Tiara 15/2 / Petit Tonnerre 8/1

I wasn't going to back anything in the Aintree Hurdle, but see Constitution Hill has touched EVS, so might go in on him now.

Gidleigh Park - Croke Park has been running well in slowly run events which he won't get here. IEP was awful last time but probably the best horse. Jango Baie is too short. Gidleigh Park is solid enough, I think he'll get the lead and able to get the run of the race.
Naturally Nimble - poor race. Not sure they've actually tried with him yet but not a confident selection.
Ahoy Senor - poor race again for the standard. Just based on his Aintree form.
Primoz or Folkes Tiara - not made my mind up yet. Both should be near the front and prominent runners do well in this.

Aintree Hurdle will probably just be a watch.
No opinion on the Mares bumper.
Wouldn't have a clue on the Foxhunters so I'll probably have a couple of quid e/w on Rhys Williams selection Yccs Portocervo.

Constitution Hill's run at Aintree when he last run at the track was imo his worse run.

You could argue Cheltenham took it's toll but I don't think he stayed the trip all that well.

                  Going to interesting today.

…in hindsight I might have been better going today rather than buying tickets for my son & his wife and now having to mind their 8 month old, Alice

Good news for AaronLad as my AI is backing Gidleigh to win again after doing so LTO also

                            Rest if anyones interested

Wodhooh (Probably has helped me find a flaw with weighting so obviously take with a pinch of salt)
Didn't run it on hunter chase as it won't be optimised for it given declining ability and loads of trainer changes given it works off RPRs for the most part

IEP keeps getting shorter and shorter

Cheekpieces must have sharpened up his home work

13:45 Jango Baie - think his form is being a little disrespected, think the fences at aintree take some jumping and not been overly impressed with IEP on that front, for all cheekpieces and townend back on board could help. just feel he is too short.
14:20 puturhandstogether - probably too short now also but was impressive in the fred winter, horses from that race don’t have a great record in this but this renewal looks really poor
14:55 ahoy senor - don’t think there’s much between any if these, ahoy senor has great course form, including the last few years in this. This renewal looks weaker to me so think this will be he best chance of winning another grade 1
15:30 constitution hill - the dreaded bet365 boost but think if jumping round he will beat lossiemouth
16:05 lifetime ambition - not a massive opinion but like that he has solid form over the national fences, the trip seems ideal and has one of the best jockeys on board
16:40 the folkes tiara and sans bruit - normally want something ridden prominently in this race. Case has been made by a few people on sans bruit, won this last year and back off the same mark. The folkes tiara has been running some good races in some of irelands big 2m handicaps, usually races prominently, likes good ground and Henry has a decent record in the race.
17:15 getawhisky - again no major opinion but happy to back this one ew. Form ties in with charisma cat who most thought was unlucky at market rasen and who then went on to win a listed mares bumber at sandown. Watching the market rasen race back, getawhisky was held up and came extremely wide turning in. She moved up to challenge still on the bridle before her run petered out in the final furlong to finish 4th, probably tiring after coming so wide. Think the price difference between her charisma cat is too big and could see her putting up a good run.
