    ….lovely morning but the rain has arrived again this afternoon and it’s been fairly persistant for an hour.

      Thanks for the regular daily, sometimes twice daily updates. The only decision to make seems to be which variety of soft/heavy we'll be getting come Thursday.

        ….actually lovely finish to the day after that unsettled spell earlier. Very sunny at the moment with a nice breeze.

          ….Aintree weather update, Monday;

          In the main yesterday was quite pleasant but we had that period of rain in the afternoon. I couldn’t hear any overnight stuff but that might be down to the rums & ginger but showers are evident from the puddles in my road and there’s still whispy rain in the air now. Forecast is for it to dry up with possibility of further showers.

          I suspect official going later will have remained unchanged.

            ….official going is as it was; Soft on Mildmay; Soft, heavy in places on National course.

            17.4mm rain fell between last Wed/Sat. 3.6mm on Sun and 2.2mm so far today with 8-10mm expected. Forecast to brighten Tues/Wed with risk of showers but it’s been overcast and damp so far this morning.

              ….not much happened today, bits or rain in the air & mainly overcast and dull but relatively mild. Forecast appears a bit kinder over the next few days, I think it’d have to be very good to change the current official going.

                Gong to be very windy tomorrow and plenty of sunshine and warm for Thursday through to Saturday so very likely to dry out a fair bit I'd say.

                  80% chance of rain in Aintree tomorrow and expected to be heavy dowwnpours if it lands. Just had a weather alert come through on my laptop.

                    If it's anything like we've had today in Ireland, expect 10 hours of steady rain, which for us has also been occasionally heavy downpours.

                      The forecast I was looking at predicted 1/2 inch of rain tomorrow at Aintree. All will depend on how much of that rain hits.

                          The first bit of drying can often make the ground worse (gluey) when it is really deep. I'd say it's touch and go whether it will be a complete bog given how high the water table is and how much rain we're getting.

                            ….Aintree weather watch; Tuesday;

                            It’s wet again this morning and has been raining since I got up 45mins ago (now 07.25am) it’s a drizzle with a light breeze, skies are grey and miserable.

                            Weather forecast is a concern with a ‘warning’ of strong winds and heavy rain until late afternoon.

                              Yep, that's what we had here in Ireland yesterday. Clear day here now, so hopefully Liverpool will get this tomorrow, but it's hard not to see it very testing now for the meeting, heavy with soft in places surely?

                                It’s absolutely torrential in Chester at the moment & has been for at least an hour that I’m aware of, not far from you so hopefully it doesn’t make its way there.
