…..Aintree weather watch, Friday;
Very wet overnight, one downpour at 01.30 was particularly heavy pounding against the windows. Not raining at the moment but a grey morning. I wonder if the Mildmay course will join the National course in having ‘heavy’ in its description.

Storm Kathleen maybe hitting the area, strong winds will help if the rain blows through.Last edited by Eggs; 5 April 2024, 02:28 PM.

…Aintree weather watch; Saturday;
Doesn’t appear to have been much rain overnight, currently dry and breezy. Storm Kathleen supposed to be hitting the NW today with strong winds and decent temperatures, much will depend on if she deposits any rain.

….Aintree weather update, Sunday;
After a glorious sunny and breezy drying day on Saturday, the rain arrived again last night and there’s been some really heavy showers overnight including one in the last hour. It’s currently wet on the ground (07.00am) but bits of blue in the sky.Last edited by Eggs; 7 April 2024, 07:22 AM.

….ha, ha. Turned into a very bright, dry and breezy morning after the overnight downpours. Feels a bit like one step forward, two steps backward, official going will be of interest.
Edit; official going as at 09.00am this morning is Soft on Mildmay; Soft, Heavy in places on the GN course. For those that don’t know, the Mildmay is fairly flat but the National course drops down to the Canal Turn area before rising gradually heading home.
Unsurprisingly, it looks like the area at the bottom of the course is where it’s heavy.Last edited by Eggs; 7 April 2024, 11:35 AM.
