      …..interesting, that’s not being reported on ATR;

      ‘Empire Steel, Fantastic Lady and Angels Dawn were the three horses not left in at Monday’s confirmation stage, while Classic Getaway, Bronn and Full Back had all been scratched.‘

          So theres 6 horses on 146 for the last 2 spots as i see it, think it then goes on current mark which skeltons mare has 146 giving her one of the spots, chambard, glengouly and kittys would then be in the ballot for the last place off 145...panda 144 hdb's horse 142...is this right?

            Panda still on 146 imo, as he's not done anything to have his mark lowered.

            The others you mention have actually had their marks reduced since weights were released...

              …I’m not sure what’s in and what isn’t. ATR appear to list alphabetically if on the same mark.

              The Racing Post race card shows;
              30; Glengouly
              31; Galia
              32; Panda Boy
              33; Eklat de Rire
              34; Chambard
              35; Kitty’s Light

              ATR/SL Racecard;
              30; Chambard
              31; Eklat
              32; Galia
              33; Glengouly
              34; Kitty’s
              35; Panda Boy

                This is interesting Eggs. I received a phone call last night telling me to make sure i had a few quid on Chambard e/w. I have duly obliged out of curiosity but on this seasons form has absolutely no chance. Can anybody make a case for it?

                  this article explains how they stand at present, and the fact there are no reserves this year.

                    …clarity, thanks @Quevega

                    So, the top 32 in the RP racecard are guaranteed a run, inc Panda Boy. If the top32 stand their ground, the final two will come from a ballot of Eklat, Chambard & Kitty’s.

                      ….won the Becher Chase by 13L on heavy ground in December ‘23 with Coko Beach in 2nd. Probably worst 100-1 shots if he gets in with his regular claimer onboard.

                        A conditional wouldn't be allowed to claim his allowance in the National.

                          ….yep but it’s his regular rider so I wouldn’t be surprised if she keeps the ride. That will be of interest if he makes the cut.

                            It's an interesting one. Funnily enough i have also backed Coko Beach. I usually back on the day for the extra places but i don't think many will finish. Between 5-8 so have just backed the 5 nrmb on the thinking that a fair few of the fancied ones might not go or run their race. My soul is prepared for the hit on the prices but can always re-back on the day if there is a fair enough drift

                            I have gone

                            Chambard - 66/1
                            Coko Beach - 33/1
                            Roi Mage - 50/1
                            Galia Des Liteaux - 33/1 (After the season Skelton has had, you can just see it)
                            Nassalam - 20/1

                              …MacTottie another who might swerve the National because of the going. Derek O’Connor lined up if he goes Topham.

                                ….Ben Pauling seems bullish over Densworth. Not seeing many pricing up the race but currently 20-1 Hills;

                                ‘Densworth is a horse who couldn’t have done it easier on his season reappearance. He had a setback at the start of the season and was supposed to be going chasing. I ran him in the conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle at the meeting last year and I thought he would nearly win it and he had a dirty trachea wash. I will go there with just as much confidence as last year. I think he is in a great place and is very talented. He should give a good account of himself in the conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle.‘
