I doubt that anyone needs reminding but the market usually goes against punters early for the big race, best value (lowest over round) likely to exist late Thursday when markets switch from ante post to late Friday, chances are by the time Saturday morning comes around many prices will have gone.
Worth reminding family/friends of this too, if you like a 50/1 shot then you want paying on a 50/1 shot, not 18/1 because the scum bookies want to rinse everyone…

….apparently still good to soft this morning at 07.40. As The hill has said, been a lovely sunny & breezy morning but that’s changed. Rain in the air but very windy. Expecting 5-10mm today.

Met Office saying the heavy stuff passed through and from here it's just showers, was it a dumping today ?
They're calling ground good to soft but that's from an inspection taken this morning at 7.40am...

….I’ve just walked a couple of miles to collect my grandson from nursery & it’s grim out there. Not persistent rain, but just the odd squall. There has been some heavy stuff this afternoon following a bright, sunny morning. It was more heavy showers than a deluge.

Concern is the sky is very black suggesting there’s plenty up there. A plus is the wind is so strong it’s blowing it through but it’s a cold wind so not sure if it’ll be drying anything out. Much will depend on what happens tonight & through the night.

The latest official measure I saw was good to soft at 07.30am this morning. I’d guess my garden and the grass verges are soft but having played plenty of football on the racecourse, my garden is nowhere near as lush as that.

Just looking out the window now by the course eggs is right it's rained today but not heavy for too long, mainly been light showers and we did have blue sky again around 3pm, looking now its dry but the sky looks to have plenty of dark clouds with a wind still blowing strong

I've listened to various podcasts today and no one seems certain about the ground on any of them, but most seem to working off the basis it'll be soft ground on day 1. Is that what you'd be looking at given the rain you've had in Liverpool?
