Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

B365 usually run a fairly decent promotion on the National and I doubt prices will be too different to what they are now. I'm going to wait until after decs now.

Yeah they do those huge price boosts on basically every horse across the morning of the race. And the last two years, they’ve given half the stake back for every e/w bet. And you can rinse and repeat. So if you want, you can pretty much double your stake.

Had my first bet in this today. Our Power @ 40 on the exchange.

He is 55 on the list so 15 defections required (the following list is pinched from TRF):

            1. Hewick confirmed not going
            2. Ga Law confirmed non runner
            3. Threeunderthrufive confirmed non runner
            4. Envoi Allen almost certainly not going
            5. Fury Road unlikely
            6. Franco De Port likely to go elsewhere
            7. Gin On Lime could go Topham
            8. Gaillard Du Mesnil may wait for Punchestown
            9. Escaria Ten could be Topham bound
            10. Remastered unlikely due to owners and form
            11. Farclas pulled up lame last time
            12. Cilaos Emery is not yet qualified
            13. Battleoverdoyen could go Topham
            14. Happygolucky doesn’t go apparently
            15. Pencilfulloflead allegedly out

I would have liked to have seen him over C&D before, so thats a concern, but I love how strong he is in the finish over 3m and its screams to me that he wants further.

He jumps well and I think he's an unexposed 8 year old that is still improving.

From the Sporting Life 'well in' article:

Our Power (BHA +6) would be well treated if running in the Grand National having defied a BHA rating of 141 rating to win the valuable Coral Trophy Handicap Chase at Kempton after the release of the weights in February.

It's possible his connections might actually be rueing the fact the race was run after the release of the Grand National weights, however, as a mark of 141 wouldn't usually be enough to secure a starting berth and he is only 55th on the list for a contest with a maximum field of 40.

Another factor to consider when assessing his chance is that, unless the weights rise, he will be 2 lb out of the handicap and effectively running off a mark of 143. That's unlikely to concern connections, though, as it's still 4 lb lower than his revised BHA rating of 147 following his Kempton success.

                  ….Sounds Russian finished for the season & wont run at Aintree;

Not sure how many runners there’ll be in The Bowl, might be a bit of e/w value.

Vanillier’s price seems to be shrinking.
Sneaked some 25/1 over the weekend and had press today at 20/1 but as low as 12/1 in places…

He's probably well handicapped but his jumping would be a big concern to me.

Yes, but these fences are now 18 inches tall topped with 4 feet of spruce, it’s not impossible to kick your way through most of these and still run well.
For me the National is more about stamina than jumping now, easier fences means they travel quicker and can disrespect them…

                            Thanks, interesting.

Probably means Mullins has one they want keeping quiet….
