  • Aintree Day 1 2022

    Early Dec's through today

    A few interesting ones

I quite like Eldorado Allen in the bowl if he's the right price and zanahiyr in the Aintree hurdle

Brazil and Pied piper look the standouts in the 4yo race if turning up

The manifesto looks a terrible renewal and they must be tempted to run bravemansgame

Probably come back and bite me but Elliott looks well out of form recently, early start to season catching up?

EDIT - beautiful timing by me as Gordie wins the 2:55 at Ayr not particularly impressive though and that's his 1st winner in about a fortnight

Doubt he's running any good horses since Cheltenham though?

The worry about zanahiyr is definitely that he's already had 5 races this season

I make a habit from backing horses at Aintree that struggle after a tough race Cheltenham but I can't help but feel Protektorat could be a class above the rest in the bowl. 3/1 the only price I can see at the moment. Edit: 7/2 with the second... Hopefully someone goes 4s!

In the conditions at least... Appreciate some of the others have smart from at their specialist tracks.

Don't like zanahiyr at all at 2/1

Monmiral looks too big at 12/1 injured first run of the season and Nicholls was clear last time was a prep run and unsurprisingly he cruised into the race before getting tired

this has been his target all year and im very tempted

…..appreciate if archie can confirm if Kemboy is an intended runner in the Bowl?

My old favourite Adagio getting another shot at Epatante

Monmiral does look a potential player though on his run in the juvenile hurdle at this meeting last year.

If Gordon fancied confirming PP will be aimed here that's one hell of a lump on job at 6/4

…that’ll do me, he’s always been a favourite of mine & we know Aintree suits.

Be 4/6 in a flash if it was confirmed

….Dashing Perk @ 28-1 (with boost) my early dart in the Foxhunters. Hampered and fell at the first last year when fancied, I understand this has been the target.

Taken the 12/1 on monmiral, I'd have him more like a 6/1 shot personally

Epatante and Zanahiyr way too short

I wouldn't put you off 10/1 as an ew price. PP's 13/2 more realistic.

….already took that 10-1 & popped him in a few e/w Thursday doubles, I did notice he was only 13/2 with PP.

(Edit; into 8-1 with Hills, best price 9-1 with 365).
