Sir Jack Yeats @ 25/1 EW with 7 places looks lovely to me. Loads of experience over the fences and a low weight are two massive ticks - barring accident I’d be surprised if he didn’t hit the frame

I don’t disagree, any win on debut has to be positive but 2.5l getting 6lb and clear of only trees doesn’t scream top class at me.
I’ll be watching today closely, he really should be smashing this field as it looks one of the weakest G1s I can remember....

With For Pleasure and a line through Ballyadam, it might be worth factoring in that Ballyadam absolutely clattered 4 out in the Supreme ... he immediately lost 4 or 5 lengths and all momentum.

13.45 - I’ve loaded up on the front 6 in the betting as a shit or bust start to the day. It’s probably a flawed strategy but my plan is to double my money to have a healthier pot to focus on singles today after my failed multiples approach yesterday. So I’ve backed Mister Coffey, Monte Cristo, Wilde About Oscar, Solwara One, Toranador and Edwardstone. I think this may be a custard pie starter for me.

14.20: Dusart - I can’t see past Dusart for this, I’m just hoping he’s ready and doesn’t disappoint. If any other horse wins then a bit like some of the races yesterday the standard has dropped.

14.50 - Fiddlerontheroof and Shan Blue.....I’m hoping they can save their best until last beat a susceptible favourite. This looks a great race on paper even if it’s a Europa League match up with out the Irish.

15.25 - No selection as yet

16.00 - Carabean Boy and Precious Cargo.....Whilst my faith in my hero Henderson is wavering and eroding I’m not giving up on him just yet

16.35 - Bravemansgame and Galyhill. Just like the first race of the day I am expecting BMG to stuff the opposition here and if not I’ll be very disappointed

17.05 - no selections and I doubt I’ll have any money left

Tough card today. Far more about finding EW value with generous place offers than finding winners IMO.

Top Novices Hurdle - For Pleasure @ 11/1, Do Your Job @ 20/1 EW
Mildmay Novices Chase - Sporting John @ 14/1 EW
            Marsh Chase - Politilogue @ 3/1, Itchy Feet @ 20/1 EW
            Topham - Modus @ 14/1, Visioman @ 9/1, Sir Jack Yeats @ 25/1 EW
Sefton - Streets Of Doyen @ 8/1 EW
Pinset Masons - The Widdow Maker @ 14/1EW

Politilogue needs to be fresh so missing Cheltenham will stand him in excellent stead here. I was expecting him to be nearer 5/4 than 3/1 - I think that's a superb price.

            Politilogue & Dusart @ 10/1
            Politilogue & TBB @ 33/1

After a shocker of a day yesterday.... Going to take a back step and just enjoy watching most of the races

To have some betting interest I've stuck a 5pt single on Streets of Doyen, backed it at Chelts so will follow it here

And have a trixie which spills on to tomorrow.... Dusart, chantry house and my drogo... 18/1

I was 0 out of 7 yesterday though so confidence is low

Agree here, I took the 33s with 6 places, even if he's out the handicap he takes too these fences and that's certainly half the battle!

I'm very keen on Leoncavallo today think he will run a big race should've backed last night at 10/1 but have to do with the 7s.

I'll be very disappointed if Dusart doesn't win that race even with his lack of experience if he's meant to be as good as thought he should be winning that doing cartwheels.

The novice chase looks fascinating I think I'm siding with Shan Blue, if he can get jumping from the front well like he can that'll help. Empire Steel is interesting considering he walloped Protektorat last time out, granted got to be taken with a pinch of salt but shame it's down to 2 places that race as he mightve been a good e/w option when it was an 8 runner field.

The times very much on the soft side of good to soft yesterday and they water it overnight as well as a tiny bit or rain, don't get that at all. Perfectly fine ground yday and if it dried out today bit i could half understand doing it this evening for Saturday but was there really any need?

I recall at Chelt once the meeting started they couldn't add water to the surface so i wonder why this festival is different?

I fancy Shan blue as well, would think course would suit, and the way it attacks fences should suit.
Just worried about a hard season it’s had.

                          Topham

I posted this on the dedicated Topham thread elsewhere on the forum:

Whilst unoriginal - I do fancy Livelaughlove for the Topham. That said I am on at 14s (placed bet before I joined the forum - apologies if comes across as an after timed comment) and now into 8s generally.

Mullins said that the Topham was the intention, but of course this is Willie we're dealing with so might not show up but fingers crossed.

I just thought the run at Leopardstown at beginning of the month was the perfect prep run for this when not quite making it home and getting chinned on the line by Mitchouka and certainly got the feeling that he wouldn't be caught at Aintree. His experience in the national over the fences back in 2019 will also hopefully put him in good stead.

Sefton - In agreement with a few on here that Streets of Doyen looks an excellent bet. McConnell doesn't send many over to these shores - in last 5 seasons he has had 8 runners in GB, 2 winners and 4 placed efforts = 75% win / place rate. The horse thrives on racing and provided the efforts in Potato don't take toll despite the ability to back up races one after another, should be there / thereabouts.

Pinsent Masons - really like the look of Bold Enough here, beaten a just over a length by Pure Genius last run out after a break - who I know several on here have backed for the NHC at Festival next year, including myself. In same race, Bold Enough beat Mitchouka into third (see write up above on Livelaughlove) - so would be a promising sign for Livelaughlove to get the job done to back up that form, and then hope that the Pure Genius form line is as promising as we hope in the months to come.

1:45 Tronador, Elliot won this 2 years ago with Three Muskateers off a similar weight, this horse could be well handicapped

2:50 Shan Blue - I think 3 miles on a flat track for one that jumps so well is perfect conditions.

3:25 Notebook - the fav hardly ever wins and this isnt the strongest field. Can see the step up in trip being a big plus, a bit like Aba yest

4:05 Snugsborough Hall, ran a decent race behind Livelove last time and was badly hampered at the last. Quite lighly campaigned this season and with a top amateur on board.
4:05 A wild swing at Tiquer at 100/1
