Chris's dream taken out, Chatham street lad too and Highland Hunter injured and out. Also Go Another one scratched .
73 left in and Poker Party the last one guaranteed at the moment.
Are 6 places the best we will get on the day? Skybet often have 7 in 18+ runner handicaps on a Saturday, but I suppose there is less enticement needed for the National. Can anyone remember what they did last year?

Boylesports were the only bookie to go 7 places last year, most others went 6 places. 365 and hills only 5 places.
….Aintree weather update; cold and wet night continuing into this morning. Not pouring but there’s rain in the air. It’s grey & not very nice out there.

Thanks. As a Longhouse Poet fan I’ll take the 16s now as I suspect he will be shorter on the day
Backed a couple so far, Commodore 40/1 & Deise Aba 66/1, obviously both E/W. Have a few more I will jump on too at some point. May just wait for final decs now though. Hoping at least one bookmaker goes more than 6 places!

A few year ago before they started trying with racing again, pretty sure Hill only paid 4 places cos I emailed them drunk and told them to close my account because they were a bunch of jokers.
Sure there must have been an algorithm smirking when i came crawling back

I would guess Sky will go extra places so they don't have to pay the SP!
EDIT: Think they are claiming it already with the 6 instead of 4! They went 6 last year aswell.
Gordon now has all 9 of his National entries jocked up - including Death Duty (Jordan Gainford) at 41 - according to the RP.
Looks to me as though they will run the lot which would also make it less likely that leading light-weights Eclair Surf and Commodore get in.
They're presumably thinking something else may opt out on Thursday giving Death Duty a run. If that doesn't happen they can always pull one of their lesser lights at the 11th hour to get him in.
