  • Galway festival 2022.

It's Galway Festival Time again .....
I'm taking a bigger interest than Usual as i am going for 2 of those Days - wed, thurs..
    ------------------------
I have already had a small speculative punt on El Barra for the Galway Plate - wed.
And the same for Party Central & Anna Bunnina , on thur's in the guinness galway hurdle.
    ---------------------------------------
I also had my eye on Ilikedwayyourthinkin for the Plate , but not sure how many runners max in this race .
he is currently at 38. and does have an entry for saturday as well..
El barra has just the one entry and sits at 8 so should run .
    ---------------------------------------------
Gordon Elliott mentioned Party Central for the guinness galway hurdle in the R.P on friday .
Anna Bunnina appears to be in form with a win at Bellewstown 3 week's ago .
    -------------------------------------------
I'm going to spend a few hours today , looking through the Cards for this week.
See if anything Else pops out the page.

Saint Roi is exactly my idea of the winner and I'll be backing it all the way down to the day

Just realised Champ Kiely is making his debut over hurdles in the opener tomorrow. One I was looking forward to seeing all last season. Also interesting he's starting out over 2m5. Is it safe to say the fact he's starting out at this time of year means he's very unlikely to be a Cheltenham horse?

I feel like gabynakos best work is between 2 miles and 2 and half..but hes put up some high rprs this season and will run off a nice weight, has been smashing it in grade 1 company this season and 3 miles on good ground wont be a problem..hes the one for me in the plate

                  From Matt Tombs on twitter:

In the last 11 years when there's been a Punchestown Festival, 10 Galway Plate winners ran in either the novice handicap (finishing 2P2F53) or open intermediate trip handicap (U300) Winner of novice handicap El Barra & 2nd Discordantly & 9th Annamix from the open handicap run

Edit to say I've back all 3, thankfully got Discordantly before Tony Keenan put it up

Backed two in the biggie tonight, Cape Gentlemen and Darasso.

Best of luck to all those playing…

2 places (one of them slightly miraculous). Stats pay

I have Hewick as a potential national horse let alone one for the plate!

To be fair the winner would have won more comfortably had it not been for the loose horse but Darasso was taken wide round the final bend which I didn’t understand.

Our old friend My Mate Mozzie today ?

Be an expensive day if I backed everything in the Hurdle that had let me down in the past!
